is "when they go low we go high" a winning strategy for democrats in 2022?

It seems to me this has been a general thought many, if perhaps not all, dems have kept in mind over the past few years. While the GOP continues in broad incivility against libs and leftists, we broadly seem to be remaining civil and policy focused in most of our messaging.
It seems to me the expectation that dems are polite is hurting us. Because any time we veer off that we now get hit with the "so much for the tolerant left" or "is this what you meant by 'we go high'" or similar things. Basically, the expectation that we will be polite and civil and policy focused may be a liability.
But at the same time, it also gives us a moral high ground for winning over centrists and on the fence voters and absolutely made an impact in the 2020 election, that even a gruff guy prone to off the cuff remarks like Biden seemed centered and sane compared to the raving loon on the right.

"It's the economy, stupid" is all you need to know.

Yes, and the Democrats need to be hitting back at the media and GOP narrative that it's all about inflation. They need to stress the record-low levels of unemployment, over and over again.

Hmm… what (if anything) does remaining “policy focused in most of our messaging” mean? Which policies (specific legislation) do you think demorats are remaining focused on?

Think former AG Holder is mixed up? o_O
There is no winning strategy for the democrats in 2022. Everything the Biden administration has touched turned to a big pile of stinky crap and the voters are pissed.

October 11, 2018
Former Attorney General Eric Holder said he disagrees with Michelle Obama’s high-minded slogan: “When they go low, we go high.”

“When they go low, we kick ‘em,” the 67-year-old former Obama Administration AG declared during a campaign swing in McDonough Ga., on Sunday. “That’s what the new Democratic Party is about… We’re going to fight for the ideals of the Democratic Party.”

This one pocketbook issue will doom the democrats in November. Then throw in the rest................

"It's the economy, stupid!" This famous phrase was coined by Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign adviser James Carville and it later became the de-facto slogan for the entire campaign.

US inflation highest in 40 years, with no letup in sight

Inflation soared over the past year at its highest rate in four decades, hammering America’s consumers, wiping out pay raises and reinforcing the Federal Reserve’s decision to begin raising borrowing rates across the economy

And remind the morons that the POTUS does not control worldwide inflation or gas/food prices.

But said morons will never accept that message because they are morons.

When they go low we go lower is all Democrats have ever offered

So tell us what are the Republicans going to do to quash inflation when they regain control of Congress?

Really? Have straight people been made out to be pedophiles? Have democrats called for the execution of a republican by firing squad?
Get real. There is no lower the right can go.

That's what people thought during the outbreak of birtherism in 2009.
That's what they thought after Trump's nomination and campaign in 2016.
That's what they thought after all the Covid lies and death-cult behaviour in 2020.
That's what they thought when Republican senators acquitted Trump in 2021, but at verbally denounced his actions.
That's probably still what they thought even later when CPAC hosted a literal golden statue of the man and the RNC described the insurrection as legitimate political discourse.

Learn from history - there's always going to be a new low.

If that were true biden's poll number would reflect it. Inflation is not the economy. The economy itself is doing fine, it's all the uncertainty around the world, plus covid adding to so many already really stressed industries and speculation on wall street makes all of it worse. If anything we have a labor shortage, there is no worldwide shortage of oil and yet everything is going up and up and up.

I think we need to hold up more tractor trailers at the borders, that should help.

I think the best strategy for Democrats would be to get a time machine and go back and undo all the stuff they did for the last 5 or so years.

No defund the police, no Covid shut down and mask religion, no botched Afghanistan withdrawal, no war on US oil and gas production, no war on parents speaking out at school board meetings, no inflationary spending, no Joe Biden, no Kamala Harris, no Nancy Pelosi. If they could undo all that maybe they’d have a shot.

Or maybe they could clone Donald Trump 435 times and have the Republicans run one clone in every congressional district.

The Democrats best chance is hammering home how the right has become a bunch of anti American ****wads.

I'm in Tucson. Nothing short of a corkscrew on the end of a sewer snake will help.
You guys need to add a little fiber to your diet. Pooping doesn’t have to be painful
