Is use of the word 'f@gg0t' offensive?

Ann Coulter says it's not, so I want to get the opinion of everyone in this forum, if I can. Although I would especially like opinions of gays, everybody's opinion counts. Also, if Ann Coulter is a member here, I really would like her opinion, primarily because she looks like a man, so could very well be a lesbian who hates herself.

No, I don't find ******, ****** or any other word offensive. I don't assign emotional value to a word. If someone is calling me a ******, my problem is that they are attacking me, not their word usage. In fact, sometime they can get props for effective insults.

Being offended is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. I don't know how it came to be so in vogue in our society, but it is basically like wearing a sign that says i have a weak ego and can't deal with the real world. Coddle and use me.

As I said, the problem isn’t the word, that relationship is a logical fallacy. The problem is the behavior.

Bottom line is she used this word because she knew exactly the type of response it would get. She couldn't attack Edwards politically so she resorted to attacking his person. It's sad because all it does is prove that she really is just doing this for shock value and nothing else.

HELLO I never said is was not offensive. I said that she didn't mean it with a sexual connotation.
