Is Trump a psychopath or suffering from senile dementia?

My only quibble with the above is the point about him being amused. I really think it troubles him that there is so much hatred directed toward him,his family and those who work for him. Pretty certain he did not understand just how vicious the business of politics is. I am sure he has had brutal dealing in business, with high stakes. Not sure he realized just how far the game of personal destruction goes in Washington. he thought he was being rough when he called opponents in the primaries silly names. Childs play for the likes of Reid then Schumer and Pelosi. Not to mention the trillions at stake in each year's federal spending.

The establishment is showing anyone who wants to run outside the mainstream of the two parties life will be miserable if you ever make it here.

Every minute of "news" coverage dedicated to nit picking his TrumpSpeak is that much less time devoted to the "scandals" that they would otherwise be rehashing. It's not as if MSM coverage of TrumpSpeak detracts from any praise that his policies might otherwise be getting.

Agreed. I also was born and raised in NYC. How many times have I or someone told someone that was a great (pick anything) it was the best ever. Is that a lie or an exaggeration. When they hand you a sandwich at the deli and you say it was the biggest and best lunch ever although it was neither did you really lie to the storeowner. CNN I guess would say yes those were lies if Trump said them, silly.

That is a good example of TrumpSpeak for sure. In TrumpSpeak that most likely meant that he took fewer of his usual leisure trips to play golf recently. His trips to Texas and Iraq were work related so he did not count that as non-working time thus he considered it to be White House time. Far too many get all worked up over meaningless comments made by Trump and he is likely amused by the faux outrage that results from it.

At what point do people stop making up new versions of what he said that kinda sorta maybe fit reality and just accept that he spews out whatever comes to mind with no actual connection to reality? How many, ttwtt? How many lies does it take for you to start giving a ****?

It's not meaningless. A man who lies so often, so easily, over such little things is also definitely lying to you about the important things.

Please relax. Getting all worked up because Trump claimed to have spent a lot of time in the White House lately (but *gasp* actually spent a day in Texas near the border) is not good for your own mental or physical health. Save that concern for when Trump starts nuking Canada over their dairy tariff levels. ;)

Don't get all worked up = No it doesn't matter how many lies he tells...

Bingo!

The deep state is warning President Biden/O'Rourke/Castro/Warren that if they want to finish out their one/two terms, then they had better know their place and keep it.

As President Eisenhower observed, it's the military-industrial complex (along with their cronies in the media) who run this country.

To the thread OP...Most likely some of both.

And you say that as a doctor who has actually had multiple sessions with the president or as an anonymous internet guy who couldnt diagnose his way out of a phone booth?

Any "anonymous internet guy who couldnt diagnose his way out of a phone booth?" is either blind, physically handicapped or never learned how to use simple methods to open closed doors. Also - when was the last time you saw a "phone booth"? The only one I'm familar with is the TARDIS. Oh, and I know at least one visually-handicapped person who could figure out how to open a closed door.

I dont think phone booths exist anymore, but I still love the reference :)

He had damn well better be, for at least then there is a reasonable excuse for his words and deeds uttered over the past several years.

Of course, I do NOT know whether the President is having a problem with brain health, but I DO know that some of the people who have the nicest manners and most gentle speech are actually very vicious and dangerous and cruel human beings who are able to hide those traits.

I hope to have comparable "brain health" , stamina and energy at 72 or 62 for that matter.

Is it in the Consitution that a president can't be in office while reccovering from a stroke or alzheimer's disease?

Woah Bucky over here asking the tough questions, but forgetting about am 25.

This myth needs to stop. Donald Trump is public enough where doctors can diagnose him just based off what they see on TV and his crazy tweets. That being said, do you really think Trump in private is a calm collective cuddly teddy bear or 1020X worse than his public persona???

Unlike your post?

and this is the childish, dumb **** we get from the right. No wonder they are Trump supporters. Probably thinks this stupid deflection with zero intelligence was clever. Unreal how pathetic these people are

I have no idea what he is like in private. And neither do you. But a president with a bad temper is hardly something new. Bill Clinton was a notorious hot-head.

What is pathetic is your definition of anyone who does not simply bash Trump at every opportunity as being a "Trump supporter". I disagree with much of what Trump says and also disagreed with much of what Obama said yet never questioned his sanity, patriotism or fitness for public office. The politicians who most frustrate me are those in congress from states/districts in which I have no ability to vote them out of office.

One psychiatrist, Yale Psychiatry Professor Bandy X. Lee, thinks Trump's words and actions are indicators that he should at least be examined by professionals.

When the President labels specific enitities in America as "Enemies of the People", I think we are facing a serious situation. Far too many Americans continue to believe a man who lies at an average rate of 15 times every day. Of course, his minions and acolytes and worshipful followers will claim the Lying Lamestream Media is just making up their stories about his lies.

Of course Bandy will say that. Democrats always stick together and say the same stupid things and make the same ridiculous arguments, no matter how ridiculous. Bandy may be safeguarding a professorship at a liberal college by saying stupid things, but Bandy is not helping America by propagating stupidity as if it is acceptable thinking.

In some states like California, you still can't get them out!

You know, the Trump haters need a new schtick. Searching the internet for some doctor committing malfeasance by diagnosing someone they've never evaluated or treated is really scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Dems are robotic in their parroting the daily narrative. Today's narrative, "vanity project". A couple days ago, "bombshell". The are good little soldiers, I'll give them that!
Wind them up and off they go.

Technically speaking, from a purely scientific/clinical standpoint, he is neither demented nor a psychopath (again, the technical name for "psychopath" is antisocial personality disorder, ASPD). The mental health community called it very early on in the Trump campaign: Trump is a narcissist. In fact, during the 2016 campaign, 60,000 mental health specialists, from psychologists and psychiatrists to social workers, signed a petition warning the American people that Trump is a narcissist. This is the petition:

“We, the undersigned mental health professionals, believe in our professional judgment that Donald Trump manifests a serious mental illness that renders him psychologically incapable of competently discharging the duties of President of the United States. And we respectfully request he be removed from office, according to article 4 of the 25th amendment to the Constitution, which states that the president will be replaced if he is ‘unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.’”

Many of these professionals actually used (and still use) footage of his speeches, rhetoric, and behavior as textbook examples in their classrooms for demonstrating and teaching about narcissistic personality disorder.

“(Trump is) so classic that I’m archiving video clips of him to use in workshops because there’s no better example of narcissism. Otherwise I would have had to hire actors and write vignettes. He’s like a dream come true.”
-George Simon, clinical psychologist

Now narcissism and ASPD lie in the same broader category of personality disorders, called the B cluster, which can also include things like borderline personality disorder. So for most laypeople, it's sometimes hard to distinguish between the two. But there are some subtle, but important differences.

Professionals, whether mental health specialists or climate experts, can give us their opinions. But this is ultimately a democracy, and the laypeople get to decide what they want. If they want to ignore the experts and specialists and dismiss them as "elites" or "fake news", then that's certainly their prerogative. They are the ones who are going to have to live with the consequences.

"Democracy is the theory that the common man knows what is good for him, and he deserves to get it good and hard."
-HL Mencken

In my own gerrymandered House district I can't get rid of Doggett despite repeated attempts.

In March 2017, a panel of federal judges ruled that the 35th district was illegally drawn with discriminatory intent. In August 2017 there was another ruling that the district is unconstitutional. However, the district was allowed to stand in the Supreme Court's 2018 Abbott v. Perez ruling.
