Political correctness run amuck.

I know what it’s not.......

It does read like satire.

A movie just isn't good unless there's a transgender minority with an emotional support pig performing the duties of key grip.

For the last few years (since certain folks threatened to boycott the Oscar ceremony), the motion picture industry has openly and proudly announced that diversity, not necessarily quality, must be considered in nominations and final selections.

In fact, some older Oscar voters (presumably tainted by old-fashioned ideas) lost their voting privileges, which were given to younger and more hip voters.

Oh, well, the country IS changing, so if the industry wants to give Oscars with the purpose of making folks feel better about themselves, nobody really cares.

Every year, the Oscar ceremony has been losing viewers. No doubt this decline will continue as the whole Oscar award ceremony becomes a farce.

Not the correct Oscar site. Oscar.go.com is correct.

1. This looks fake
2. Almost every movie already easily meet these requirements. (because the requirement is not AND it's OR).

Just imagine what remakes of "300 Spartans" or "12 angry men" will now have to look like to qualify for an Oscar...

From USA Today:

So if Standard A isn't met, films still have several behind-the-scenes ways to achieve eligibility. Standard B focuses on diversifying creative leadership and crew roles. Standard C focuses on industry access, calling for films to provide paid apprenticeship, internship and skill development to underrepresented groups. Standard D requires that a film's marketing, publicity and distribution teams include multiple in-house senior executives from underrepresented groups.

Any two standards met equals best picture eligibility. The movie audience won't even see many of the key structural improvements. Oscar best-picture rules: Academy finally found real way to diversify

From Yahoo News:

Kirstie Alley railed against the initiative calling Hollywood “so far left.”

“This is a disgrace to artists everywhere ... can you imagine telling Picasso what had to be in his...paintings. You people have lost your minds. Control artists, control individual thought ... OSCAR ORWELL,” she tweeted on Tuesday.

...Alley, 69, blasted the move as “dictatorial” and “anti-artist.”

“I’ve been in the Motion Picture Academy for 40 years. The Academy celebrates freedom of UNBRIDLED artistry expressed through movies,” she tweeted. “The new RULES to qualify for ‘Best Picture’ are dictatorial ... anti-artist..Hollywood you’re swinging so far left you’re bumping into your own a**.” Kirstie Alley slams new Oscars inclusion rules: '''This is a disgrace to artists everywhere'''

The progressive public of the West and Europe is perplexed by the new standard of the Russian Academy of motion picture arts, where receiving the "Nika" award is possible only if the main idea of the film is the desire of men and women to create a healthy social unit.

According to the new standards, in order for the film" 300 Spartans "to be nominated for an Oscar, at least 100 Spartans who opposed the army of Xerxes in The Thermopylae gorge had to be women, blacks, gays or disabled.
