The government at all levels conspired to turn the Zimmerman trial into a rigged show trial.

The Obama admininstration circumvented normal procedures and sent DoJ investigators to Florida to get Zimmerman charged. They sent DoJ activists to organize protests to "demand justice for Trayvon."

The Florida governor circumvented normal procedures and sent special prosecutors to charge Zimmerman when the local prosecutors would not.

The City Manager attempted to coerce the police chief into charging Zimmerman and otherwise circumvented normal procedures.

Now that the verdict has been reached, and the government and media utterly failed in their efforts to win a conviction, the federal government is again trying to find a way to railroad Zimmerman by charging him with federal crimes.

All of this activity is un-American, worthy only of a half baked totalitarian state. And it all started at the top with a President who, unlike previous presidents, took sides in a criminal matter before the trial.

The heros here were the members of the jury, who stood up to incredible pressure in favor of conviction and thereby showed that this is still America ... for now.

The push toward a more and more left wing governance is always attended by more and more authoritarianism, because people know it is wrong and therefore must be forced to fall in line with the government's agenda.

May I suggest you ask the four police officers that beat Rodney King?

it is all a sham. the left has to keep the false perception of ramped racism alive so to keep convincing the minorities not to vote for the other guy they are all racist, and im the only one to protect you. they cant run on their hidden agenda of totalitarian enslavement to big government

so all whites are racist because some cops beat the hell out of a black man but we sure in the hell cant say all blacks are thugs when 50% of all violent crimes are committed by them

explain your hypocrisy

Calm Down - you missed my point - the officers that beat Rodney King are victims of double jeopardy if you ask me - hence I suggest the OP ask them if its still America - not us.

Those who feel degrees of responsibility will want some kind of action taken.

Usually, it will be the kind of action that best serves their lowest-common-denominator pandering, to find a scapegoat to blame for the lack of attention such current officials paid to the systemic causative problem.

Rarely will someone stand up and recognize that the environment in which both Martin and Zimmerman lived was corupted from over-population and under-supply of needs, that by its nature creates the collective neuroticism typified by such boundary violations and suspicion.

We know that Rodney King was on PCP that night (chemical tests proved that) and did not react to the stun gun applications nor would he respond to the commands of the police. The convict of the policemen was politically motivated. No different than Soviet Show trials. Obama and Holder are attempting to repeat these Kangaroo Court Soviet Show trials here in America. Is this really where Americans want this government to go?

Is this still America?

These 4 men were doing their job, a tough one, and 17 seconds of video (or something like that) ruined their lives thanks to a government / media machine that even a jury of 12 disagred with. When the jury looked at the case entirely they were exhonorated and our government used civil rights violations as a means to prosecute them on federal crimes - to me that was double jeopardy plain and simple. Do you think those 4 still think this is America? They are out today, its been many years and their sentences were in the realm of 5 years I think - again for doing a hard job - to which the masses saw only a few ugly seconds.

Ask them what?

Kangaroo courts, show trials, corruption, etc, etc, have a long history in America.

I find the question from the op to be a bit disingenuous

What is a DOJ activist? Is this a government employee whose job is to "stir things up"? Is there a job title for this? This is a legitimate question, I'll appreciate information rather than the usual left/right routine.

But with people like haymaker, what do you expect. King was an addict that refused to follow orders, lawfull orders.
He got a beat down for it.

It was not just that, he was beat down for attacking another officer, and at one point (long before the camera rolled) he had his hands around her neck I believe. But our journalist / media showed America the part it wanted the public to see with out the story, and so when he was exhonorated they got another story they wanted - 55 dead people - riots and "news." Our government got to roll out its new civil rights violation rules against police officers; a win win for the academica-media-government machine.
