For the two persons who are in power, the chance is very small.

For persons in the future, I think, it's relatively easy to find a reason and get a majority for it. The probability for this to happen might correlate with the probability that there is a president who actually seeks for it.

I would fight against any who tried to destroy our constition. I don't care if the person was Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, NeoCon, or Communist.

It is the laws, the structure, the ideals, the organization of the constitution that makes America. Without the Constitution we are in fact 50 seperate states.

A coup by any one group, is the end of the united States. I would fight, scream and yell. I would rather be dead than to have a dictatorship from the Right of Left.

It would have worked in 2002. Now, with a hostile Congress, a lukewarm military, and a low approval rating... there's no chance he could hold the country even if he tried to take it.

The danger of President Bush is not that he might abolish democracy and rule as a dictator, but that he has made it considerably easier for future Presidents to do so-- both in expanding the legal powers of the Executive Branch and in eroding the system of checks and balances that ensure that the Executive Branch must remain within the law.

There will be an election in 2008. It is our responsibility to elect someone who respects our laws and respects the ideals of a free society, so that the damage of these last six years might be repaired.

It would be difficult for bush to [or any other u.s leader] to become a dictator given the fact that his power is limited by congress and the supreme court. It would be far easyer to become a dictator in a country where power is centralised on the executive branch of government like russia or brittain then one where its spread out like the u.s.a. Given Putins leadership style it wouldnt surprise me. Batista did the same in Cuba if i remember rightly.

Moderates don't join revolutions until they're already won, and all the people that strenuously object to Bush's policies-- or even seriously think about his political philosophies-- don't allow guns in their homes and are doing their very damnedest to not allow guns in mine.

If there's a "resistance" against Bush, the Chinese will be looking down their noses at us twenty years from now about Times Square.
