There have been over 40 attempts to repeal Obamacare, and countless measures to limit its implementation. We also had a challenge reach the Supreme Court, which affirmed that the Affordable Care Act is indeed constitutional. At what point does due diligence become outright obstruction?

What is that line about the insane? They keep repeating that which does not work.

It looks like the Tea Party is a textbook example of a party gone insane. After all, sane people do not beat their heads against a wall. They accept reality and conclude that the law of the land is the law of the land, even if they do not like the law, especially after losing the court battle. To do otherwise would be insane. Unless...

The Tea Party is actively being anarchist. Just like the sane would accept defeat and live to fight another day, those who are not anarchist would find a way to work within the system, get this particular law done as efficiently as possible and move on. Only an Anarchist would undermine the laws of the land to ensure they fail to function. After all, only the anarchist would refuse to accept the rule of law, which is the direction taken by the Tea Party faction of the Republican party.

The Tea Party Patriots should either be renamed the Tea Party Anarchists or labeled Insane

I think the best thing to do is to send it back with something they'll never pass like an assault weapons ban. Then when they complain about how the Senate is sending them "non-starters," just say "Yeah, we know the feeling. Want to talk now?"

I heard a TPer in the HOuse say "Where's the Senate?" They were there, they voted it down. Their job is not to rubber stamp the House.

oooh anarchists you say.

the last time politicians accused citizens of being anarchists, they round them up and stuck in jail or deported them outright for exercising free speech rights.

The Tea Party is neither Anarchistic nor Insane; they're mearly Principled. That's something we haven't seen in Washington DC in a very long time.

Ah the dishonest liberal rhetoric at its finest......

The Tea Party is neither Anarchistic nor Insane; they're mearly Principled. That's something we haven't seen in Washington DC in a very long time.

Yeah the rest of America would like to know these principles. Are they principles in shutting the goveernment down because they do not get what they want. They have done everything to de legitmize the president calling him the anti christ, Muslim, non american, and a host of other things. They campained on this shuting down the government and now they have and they will feel the rath at the balot box if not sooner.

The tea party suffers from cognitive fixations. Basically tea partiers can't think logically or process facts. Rather they have scripts running in their head about the debt, ACA, communism, immigrants, the UN, gold, inflation -- which overrides rational thought.

I would call their thinking fetishism. They have fetishes that they fixate on and no factual input contradicting their memes will prevent them from perseverating on their fetishes.

Freud would have loved the tea party.

Just angry rabble....

The principles are very simple. Just read the 8 pages of the US Constitution as it was originally written.

I'm not a Tea Partier, but I am in favor of shutting down about 80% of what the Government does PERMANENTLY.

Feel the wrath of who?... The people who voted for them and DEMANDED they do this? Or are you talking about the people who weren't going to vote for them anyway, which makes their opinions non-factors to the Tea Party?

Well lets look at this the same people that you claim read the constitution. Are the same people that accused the President of not being born in this country, the anti christ, a Muslim, and attcked his wife and children with insults and you want the resy of America to believe in the same breath they understood the constitution LMFAO you are joking right.

It should be noted that the "Constitutional" issue is still up for grabs. The individual mandate was shot down on the principle of "General Welfare" but untested on the grounds of "Tax and Spend". It is still quite possible that the tax (and it HAS been deemed a tax) will be challenged and if that is defeated then the entire individual mandate will be deemed unconstitutional thus rendering the whole plan an exercise in futility.

Challenged? Based on what? The court spoke. It's a done deal.

Problem with that is the Tea Partiers would have to be deported to Mars.

"Is the Tea Party Insane or Anarchist?"

No. It is a group campaigning for lower government spending and lower taxes.

Repeatedly doing something which fails to work while expecting a different result, whether it's by principle or plain old obsession, is still insane.

I think you might be confusing the US Constitution with some other document; maybe a Dr. Seuss book or something. The Constitution is not about being nice or friendly or pleasant to anyone. It's about laying down the rules for this nation's operation on a day-to-day basis. It's also a document that the current POTUS, and every one of his predecessors starting with Mr. Lincoln have used as toilet paper. To that end, I along with a lot of people have very little respect for the current POTUS or his predecessors.

I don't think any of them actually EXPECT a different result. However, they are holding to their Principles and doing what their constituents elected them to do.

Ah. Then they are Anarchists. Perhaps it is time to label them as such.

Campaigning or refusing to pass a spending bill because they are against the insurance measure which passed nearly 6 years ago?

No. You are referring to certain republicans in the house that are holding the debt ceiling hostage. That has nothing to do with the tea party. The tea party is a group campaigning to reduce government spending and taxes. Hang in there. You'll get it.

You still havent told any of us what their priciples are because frankly they do not make any logical points when they speak. So what is the Teaailban platform?
