Is The Punishment For Child Porn Cruel and Unusual Punishment?

Is The Punishment For Child Porn Cruel and Unusual Punishment?

Yeah there's a difference between being attracted to children, and acting upon that attraction. There are support groups out there for pedophiles who don't want to be pedophiles and I think their rehabilitation should be encouraged.

I do think that the penalties for possessing child porn is pretty harsh, particularly cartoon images. Distribution is basically an impossible thing to track in the digital age so laws based on distribution are pretty superfluous unfortunately (if we could track it then I think there should be harsh sentences on distribution). Actually acting on pedophillic urges is despicable and should result in a long jail sentence and permanent registration as an offender.

Grand Stand Hackery, amirite?

So do you agree that we should torture Citizens accused of Pedophilia? I mean after all we are a country who is willing to do whatever it takes to protect it's people, right?

Looks like you're willing to double down on posting silliness. Take a pill.

Way to dodge the question there, champ.

You're off topic, did you even notice? You don't run this thread, nor dictate what's discussed. Your post was/is ridiculous and stupid, and therefore doesn't warrant an answer. Got it now, junior?

It was perfectly on topic. Which is more than I can say then your reply to my post, dingus.

Lol

the reason I asked is in cases like a 16 and 17 year decide to make a "home movie" together in a place like Nevada, would they fall under the federal pornography laws or not that's all

As someone who experienced childhood sexual abuse, I'll try to approach this as impersonally as I can:

I have no issues with mandatory minimum sentences for producing child pornography . That being said I know that certain circumstances (say a 17 and 18 making a video or whatever) that is a different story and should be handled differently

As far as distributing: same story. I think there should be extra punishment if it is deemed "revenge porn"

Ideally, I'd like to have pedophiles and abusers removed from society at large, but I know that's unlikely

I do wonder how they track that. What happens if someone is searching for porn and accidentally opens a kiddie porn link? Or do they have underground sites where it CAN'T be mistaken? I ageee with harsh sentences for distributors and even harsher for the sick monsters who molest and rape kids all while taping it! Find them!!!!

What do any of those stories have to do with his post or the subject of this thread which is the punishment for child porn?

Read his post. His suggestion is to beat the person who receives/makes the child porn. What if the person abusing the child in order to create porn is the parent? Parents already get caught abusing their children, as per the examples. So if the logic is to beat the person who creates/sees the porn, what happens when it is the parent? Learn to follow threads.

If we're talking about real kids, not just teenage sluts, then no.

Yes I read his post. And your response was to post stories about parents abusing their children. So a few examples of parents being garbage and raping their children has what to do with his punishment idea to let the parents of the children victimized by someone else via child porn exact the punishment on the criminal?

And your examples didn't even show parents being the ones who victimized their children via porn. In the first example, the parents raped their baby during a supervised visit with Child Protective Services. What does that have to do with an adult making and distributing pornographic images of someone else's child? Hint -nothing.

Wow. Who are you to determine if someone is a slut or not.

Mainly because there comes a time when one can not judge the age of some young people. [could just be the old codger in me]

Someone's mad he got none in high school

Yes, because parents at times are the ones creating this material as well as the abuse. So the question was: If parents create the porn, should they receive the same treatment he stated?

And your examples didn't even show parents being the ones who victimized their children via porn.

It's almost like you really need these things chewed for you. However, I'll play along, here you go, examples of parents creating child porn:

Mother Convicted Of Prostituting Her Daughters In Nebraska Gets More Jail Time

Father prostituted disabled girl

So again, my question to him is, what happens in such cases? Does the parent get shot? Do they beat themselves up?

Yes, same thing. I am sure another family member would be willing to step in.

So then the punishment in the case of child pornography is to have one a family member step in and beat another family member? What if nobody steps up? Who gets to beat them?

Sure. The older I get the more I can tell younger peoples ages. Poor excuse. Sounds like the old "I swear your honor, she told me she was 18".

OH, I am sure we can find some one.

Okay, enjoy being totally off topic.

That could apply to a 19 or 20 year old boy who has a 17 year old girlfriend posing for nude pics.

You know where I'm going here.
