Every part of the federal government has been politicized by the left. The best example of how bad it's gotten was when we learned:

"Charles Bolden, a retired United States Marines Corps major-general and former astronaut, said in an interview with al-Jazeera that Nasa was not only a space exploration agency but also an "Earth improvement agency".
Mr Bolden said: "When I became the Nasa administrator, he [Mr Obama] charged me with three things.
"One, he wanted me to help reinspire children to want to get into science and math; he wanted me to expand our international relationships; and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science, math, and engineering."

Remember when the FBI was sent after Billy Dale for the egregious offense of being in the way of the Clintons?

"In 1996, while investigating Travelgate, congressional investigators discovered that, starting in 1993, the White House had improperly obtained access to hundreds of FBI files on former White House employees, including some fairly senior Republicans and Billy Dale, the fired travel office employee."

and:

"“Billy Dale was escorted out of the White House by the FBI, put into a paneled van with no seats and told to sit on the floor the day the Clintons removed him,” Linda vividly recalled. “And I watched Hillary orchestrate that whole thing; siccing the FBI on them, getting them out,” she fumed.

“Careerists, while they’re not political, do serve at the pleasure of the president. All President Clinton had to say was, ‘We’re replacing you.’ It would’ve been unheard of, but was within his legal purview to do.” Instead the Clintons did what Linda said they always did: “Destroy their enemy and ruin them.”

Remember the ATF at Waco with "Operation Showtime"? As I recall, it was quite a show.

Remember Lois Lerner and the IRS that doesn't have, according to President Obama, a smidgen of corruption. For once, I agree with Barack Obama. The stench from the IRS certainly exceeds a "smidgen."

If the FBI weren't politicized they would be the only federal department exempt from politicization and that's highly unlikely.

Is the FBI a law enforcement entity or a political entity?

Not on paper, how they act. Today's day-to-day reality.

If you say LE solely, you're saying they have no underlying political motivation whatsoever. Same in reverse.
It's both. It's inherently law enforcement, but any arm of the state is necessarily political.

Is the FBI a law enforcement entity or a political entity?
It's the same as pretty much any law enforcement agency.

No one, not even a tiny police department, is truly non-political in nature.
