Is Putin Suicidal

How ironic this falls under "intel".

Never underestimate pride and hubris. He made a strategic blunder, which does not require insanity. And his speech was just a somewhat sloppier version of what the Romans always did before conquering territory: gave speeches that painted themselves as victims on a righteous campaign against aggressors.

He's old and senile .........cannot be trusted.

Suicidal? No. Not as he sits 20-50 feet from breathing human beings.

unless he decides suicide by nuke war.....
We should expect it.

That way we won't capitulate, and when we snake by, we can be pleasantly surprised.

Look at it from a temporal standpoint. If Putin blows us up, then it is now that he will blow us up so don't be fooled. That is war, you must go expecting to die.

Not his style.......but I do think he is becoming increasingly unhinged and unpredictable. I think there will be an ouster but it won't be in Ukraine.

This is the nightmare scenario people have been worrying about for the last half century: a nuclear power with an increasingly unhinged leader. Maybe if we can get through this, there will be more appetite in the world for just getting rid of nukes altogether.

The question is not whether or not Putin is crazy enough to use nukes. It's whether or not the people who would have to carry out his orders are also crazy enough to use nukes.

Finally a post agreeing with the point I made days ago with basically no response.

You should assume, 'yes'.

Yes these are just soldiers. They will respond the same way Nazi soldiers did after WWII when asked how they could commit such horrific actions against innocent civilians: “just following orders”.

Ukraine gave up their nukes. Syria gave up its WMDs. If anything this might strengthen the resolve of the DPRK and Iran. We all wish you were right but it’s just not gonna happen.

Nuclear disarmament, or at least de-escalation, has to begin with the USA and Russia. It always has, but of course neither has any desire to do so.

If it weren’t for nukes that 40 mile long Russian convoy would be the biggest turkey shoot since the ‘highway of death’ from the Gulf War

I certainly wouldn't put it past the USA to start WW3, or the others if they had the means, so the nuclear deterrent has had its upside. We'll only know whether or not it was worth it if and when they end up getting used regardless.

Americans obviously didn't have an appetite for war after the past 20 years, but things can change fast.

1. Americans say 63 – 32 percent that they are concerned that Russia may use nuclear weapons if NATO, which includes the United States, tries to interfere with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

2. Americans think 66 – 20 percent that Putin has intentions to invade other countries beyond Ukraine.

3. If Russia invades a NATO country, Americans say 70 – 21 percent that American troops should get involved.

4. Support has increased for President Biden’s decision to deploy thousands of troops to Eastern Europe to support U.S. allies in NATO. Americans now support the decision 70 – 21 percent. In a February 16, 2022 Quinnipiac University Poll, they supported it 54 – 36 percent.

He is not suicidal. However power is rotting his brain. This is how absolute power works on the mind of the one that exercises it. His insistence on these long conference tables with him alone at one end are examples of his corroding mind. We had King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Now we have Monster Putin and the Generals of the Long Table.
