Yes, I believe that pornography is wrong. It is disgusting, and degrading to both the participants and the audience. It subverts the natural sex drive, distorting ideals of physical beauty and mutually pleasurable sexual activity.

I do not, however, believe that it ought to be illegal-- as it is protected speech, and whatever else I can say of pornography, it is a far lesser wrong than censorship.

Of course its not wrong. Whats wrong with porn?

In the US people are afraid of breasts and naked women on tv, in Europe nude women are normal, breasts are natural and we like them, and yes, we flash them up on the TV.

This is the reason rates of rapes are much higher in the US than in Europe.

Whats more wrong about porno on TV than violent movies and shooting?

I don't care one bit if people want to look at pictures of nudes or people having sex etc.. I really get pissed about pornographic photos of nude children. yet If they keep this trash in the privacy of their own lives, don't molest children, or rape. I really don't care if they have photos of men and women. I draw the line at sexual photos of children. I have only known two or three people who collected pornography, and I found that out only by accident.

I do think that as long as folks are not harming others, let them have their privacy

Of course it's not 'wrong'. I'm at a loss as to how it could be perceived as such.

But, I guess like anything else though, it's all subjective. Some people think sex is 'wrong' in general. Some people think enjoying sex is 'wrong'. Some think that sex in any position other than missionary is 'wrong'.

Regardless of whether or not one believes it's 'wrong' though, the freedom to have it should never be removed. Whether one 'likes' pornography or not, it harms no one and nothing.

There's nothing inherently wrong with porn, but like most other things, it can be abused and there are a lot of people who are substituting porn for healthy relationships with other people, something that is definitely problematic.

Actually all of the countries have rape statistics that are very close percentage wise.
rape statistics per capita
Probably because rape is an act of violence, an assault that uses sex as a weapon, it is NOT a sexual act and has absolutely nothing to do with seeing naked bodies or breasts or any other part of a woman. That is a totally ignorant comment of the sort that leads people to blame women for being raped.

If I find that my husband's been looking at porn it bothers me. Not because I believe "porn" in and of itself is "wrong" so much as I believe that if he's going to look at porn behind my back than he should be intellilgent enough to make sure I don't know about it. I find it kinda disrespectful and I don't want to be confronted with it in my own home. That doesn't mean he can't ever look at it so much as it means if I know he's been looking at it then somehow I've been disrespected.

I don't think pornography is wrong. I even own some.

That has got to be one of the stupidest things I've ever read.

LOL Gosh no. I would not be able to stand seeing myself on video. My collection (which isn't much) is all girl-girl stuff. ;)

<snapping my fingers in disappointment> damn, well, you can't blame a man for asking.... and I had images in my head, too... ;)

He obviously hasn't seen our Super Bowl commercials and halftime shows. American people love **** the way crack addicts love crack. We don't care who it is. A 21 year old fresh out of Georgia State or a 56 year old biker lady.

Ron White is funny redneck.

Of course not. Not if we're dealing with a fair and objective definition of pornography.

When people say they've never looked at porn, I look at them as if they claimed to have never masturbated.

That has got to be one of the stupidest things I've ever read.

I know, talk about non-sequitor. "You're afraid of boobs and sex, so you rape."

The funny thing is I get pissy if I find porn stashes yet some of the books I read are completely out of hand. So I can't get too crazy mad. He likes pictures. I prefer words & dirty talk.

Well, that makes sense. I'd guess most women prefer words, just as most men prefer pictures/video/audio.

Now the home made variety I have zero objections to as long as the main characters are who they are supposed to be! ;)

Agreed. The people making porn are actually having sex, and if it's amateur porn, they're having sex with someone they have at least an ongoing social relationship with.

Still not so good for the people watching it... but it's considerly less bad than the professional stuff.

As long as we're talking about adults, there is nothing wrong with porn.
