Yellow Journalists make distorted headlines that grab people's attention but they are short on facts. It really does sound a lot like fox news.

Here are Fox's above-the-fold headlines. To which ones do you object?

THE headline: Conservative activists put heat on GOP

Fox is infotainment. All teevee "news" is infotainment. It is not journalism. Television "news" really is dangerous. People who watch it are misinformed. Free your mind and stop watching any and all TV "news".

The night line up of talk shows on FOX is for the most part all Republican. But not their news portion during the day. It is as accurate as CNN's as I switch back and forth when commercials come on. I suppose you could call the talk shows yellow journalism, but they are talk shows and if that is the case, all the night time talk shows on MSNBC are yellow journalism also. It all depends on your political point of view.

You probably should have said "cable" news because I find my local television news to be quite accurate and unbiased.

Let's agree to disagree, fair lady. :peace

You find your local news to be biased? Seriously, my local news reports the news without any spin. Maybe it depends on your location.

Only an idiot would think that. Do they sometimes have biased headlines? Sure, but so does the NY Times, the Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, ABC News, NBC News, you get the idea.....

It's not that I find it biased but that I find it lacking. It is infotainment.

Stop this source and accept news only from those sources that you approve?

What are those sources?

Do what you want. If you want to be well informed you don't rely on TV "news". TV is not conducive to deductive reasoning. You either know that or you don't.

I believe there was a study that showed Fox viewers in particular were less well informed than those who consumed their news from almost any other source but Fox.

I happen to find "news" from many sources of many biases.

I was only wondering what your approved conduits might be.

You seem to have a strong feeling on what is not worthy. i was only wondering what you have recognized as being the Gold Standard.

I believe the study was conducted by a biased group looking for a particular outcome.

Nothing else I can add to this that is either relevant or true. 100% accurate.

Air time is too expensive to do any kind of in-depth, factual reporting on anything. They need ratings to justify their time on air, and more people want drama than information, and fewer still want in-depth information. TV news may be good for grabbing headlines, but print is the only way to get any real information about anything. (I'm including wire news on-line in "print").

The people watching Fox, et. al. are just drama junkies looking for a fix. Sadly, millions vote based on their favorite histrionic talking head's nonsense.

Who decides what is going to be the headlines for the day? Let me answer that for you. The AP and Reuters will declare what is worthy. And the AP and Reuters like everyone else have their biases.

Investigative journalism has been dying for decades. Today the MSM are nothing more than parrots repeating what the AP and Reuters have declared news worthy.

One of the ways AP and Reuters show their bias is if a Republican gets caught in an illegal or shady deal, you will find his/her name in the very first paragraph of the story with an (R) next to it. However, if it is a Democrat, the name will be mentioned in the first paragraph but the (D) will not be present. You often have to read the article to the end to discover this politician is a Democrat and many times that information is not given.

Another example of how they play games is they will withhold stories that may be damning to their political bias such as how they withheld stories about Obama in regard to his past voting record as a State Senator of Illinois and as a U.S. Senator. They withheld information from the public on Obama's many associations with very far left organizations such as Democratic Socialists of America, his ties to Bill Ayers who launched his political campaign from his home. It is the press's duty to help vet political candidates and when it came to Obama, they certainly didn't do their job. But during the same time a Republican governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina was caught in an affair with a Venezuelan hottie and they spent weeks covering that one even printing his private love letters. Another example is during the 2008 Democrat primaries, no one reported on John Edwards' love affair while his wife was dying of cancer or his love child. The press all knew about it but withheld the story until after the presidential election for fear if a Democrat was caught in such a scandal that it may be detrimental to the presidential candidate B. Obama. Leading up to the 2012 elections, there were Republican politicians trying to get the message out about Social Security Disability claims soaring, and how the Obama administration was allowing more subjective claims of disability to be allowed and how this helped keep unemployment rates artificially down giving a false impression that the economy was improving. It wasn't until a month ago when papers like the New York Times and Washington Post started covering the story. And just 2 weeks ago 60 minutes covered it. But then again, this isn't an election year. Thank goodness for the "New Media" because they force the stories that the MSM would like to avoid.
