Is It Now Time for Media Outlets to Call This a “coup"?

You see. The thing is, Rousseff's government was actively investigating the corruption scandal. Even those involved in the corruption scandal admitted this, see the OP link for evidence.

It's funny how members of her PT (Partido dos Trabalhadores) somehow had a scarcity of investigations. Trying to hand ex-President Lula a position in her government so he could enjoy the protection from prosecution that went with it was too blatant "safadeza" (shamelessness) for even Brazilians to tolerate. That looks like the turning point against her.

I don't have much time right now, so I will put it this way: Socialist attitude means an authoritarian monopoly.

You're just reporting your feelings, not facts; and incidentally, they're far from a complete picture. Socialism has two branches, state socialism (authoritarian socialism/communism) and libertarian socialism. I belong to the latter, what I've defended belongs to the latter, and that's really all that I can say.

State capitalism/state socialism is not the-one, the-only True socialism.

Look no further than Venezuela. Maduro is determined to push the "socialist vision" irrespective of how deep the suffering of his subjects. Have you ever noticed how socialism and scarcity go together like bread and butter?

Unlike modern capitalism, which nearly has the US in national uproar and contains one of the most openly corrupt political system in the world?

Again, there's something pretty unselfware for anyone from the US running around casting judgment on other countries for being corrupt at the expense of their own citizens.

:doh
You realize that the PT was not in direct control of the investigation and was investigating PT members such as former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva?

Former, I would assume, being the key word in that statement.

Just how hard they were investigating vis a vis members of their own party is also open for debate.

I think it is all about the BRICS and which is a very large threat to the U.S. economic system. Brazil is an integral part of this new economic alignment backed by Russia and China.

Find me any non-nuclear government (country) in the universe who chose to go their own separate path and walk away from U.S. imperialism and perhaps sell their natural resources in other currencies rather than the U.S. dollar and "Survived".

Calm

So "hard" that those being investigated said:

"The transcripts were published by the country’s largest newspaper, Folha de São Paulo, and reveal secret conversations that took place in March, just weeks before the impeachment vote in the lower house was held. They show explicit plotting between the new planning minister (then-senator), Romero Jucá, and former oil executive Sergio Machado — both of whom are formal targets of the “Car Wash” corruption investigation — as they agree that removing Dilma is the only means for ending the corruption investigation.... The transcripts are filled with profoundly incriminating statements about the real goals of impeachment and who was behind it. The crux of this plot is what Jucá calls “a national pact” — involving all of Brazil’s most powerful institutions — to leave Michel Temer in place as president (notwithstanding his multiple corruption scandals) and to kill the corruption investigation once Dilma is removed. In the words of Folha, Jucá made clear that impeachment will “end the pressure from the media and other sectors to continue the Car Wash investigation.”.. When discussing the plot to remove Dilma as a means of ending the Car Wash investigation, Jucá said the Brazilian military is supporting the plot: “I am talking to the generals, the military commanders. They are fine with this, they said they will guarantee it.”

Yeah, that doesn't really answer the question I asked.
