Or has the Trumpfellating gotten less, uh, triumphant lately? Less enthusiastic. 'Smatter, trumpsters, creeping doubts and waning adulation?

Well possible. I had thought it was me ie my fall off of interest.

You need to listen to CBC.

They had a segment on that very topic last evening. The whole camp has become quiet, it appears Trump is sequestered with aids trying to regroup. At this stage of the campaign being forced to change managers is highly significant. I think he is hearing reality, they can't make fist ballot so he needs to somehow make himself palatable for second or maybe even third ballots.

His biggest problem, according to the guests, is he has not just alienated women, but angered them. They point out that in order form him to win the presidency he will have to win the vote of more women voters than did Romney.

Somehow, in order to win the nomination, he is going to have to convince a majority of delegates he can win women......

And I call that the Department of Fat Chance

I know. I haven't for years but I used to all the time, especially when I lived up north. Remember Barbara Frum, 'As It Happens'? She was about the best interviewer I've ever heard.

I'm still not convinced this isn't all just a game with him. Scary thing is, I'm not sure 'President of the USA' can be role-played.

And I call that the Department of Fat Chance

He'd axe that department, too.

Or is this a bait thread?

What's the matter, Grand Mal...you getting bored? Looking to stir up some ****? (be careful how you answer...bait threads are against the rules around here, you know)

Perhaps, but not sure I would've put it in such an immature and asinine way. ;) What are you, like, fourteen?

here is the (angry) confirmation the OP was seeking

Aw, you didn't like it? Thought it was kind of pithy myself.

So, I wonder if Trump made the rookie mistake of peaking too early.

Me??

I'm not angry.

Heck, I'm not even a Trump supporter.

Doesn't mean I like bait threads, though.

I don't believe he thought he'd ever get this far.

At one point I was ready to support Trump, I thought his attitude was to get attention for the primary. The problem is, he kept up at it long after he needed to and made too many enemies. And the whole wives dispute was petty and juvenile. Same thing with Megyn Kelly.

He should've not done those

No it is not just you. Trump has moved the campaign so far into ludicrous speed that he has "gone to plaid."

At this point I think most observers are waiting for GOP convention shenanigans, Trumps reaction to that pending mess, who ends up as an Independent, and how the general election race looks against Sanders or Clinton (probably Clinton.)

IMO those of us who still support Trump have said all we need to say.

If he does not get the Republican nomination I don't know who I will vote for. All I know is that I won't vote for Hillary, or Cruz...and Sanders is highly doubtful only because of my fear he will appoint members to SCOTUS who will screw with individual liberty in favor of socialist goals.

I knew Barbara and yes, she had an uncanny way of getting right to the root of it, when she did her own interviews. The truth is often a producer would conduct an over long interview to tape, and then edit it to her questions. If you think about it, she would not have time to do four or five interviews a day. I know because I was interviewed for the show three times as a reporter in Montreal on various events, mostly the Cliche inquiry into organized crime.

As is happens is still a great program, as is Under the Influence with Terry O'reily, and the comedy programs. All of them are having a field day with Trump.

At this point I need to ask, do you really believe he will build a wall with Mexico, and two will he make them pay for it?

No I don't.

As I've posted elsewhere, I was raised in New York City. I know of Trump and I've known his type...he is not atypical of the City.

I know he is not the monster he has been painted. A blowhard, a showman, an opportunist? Yes. All the rest? Pretty much character assassination IMO.

He is a good businessman, but he's also not unfamiliar with failure and how to overcome failure to get back on track.

If he were elected he might shake things up and force some changes in the goals of both Republican and Democratic thinking. Neither party is going to support him in Congress, so he can't do much damage.

At worst he would just be another poor President, and not necessarily the worst we've ever had.

I can't exactly call that a sales pitch. He can do no harm, is better than 'elect me because I'm a woman" how exactly? Sorry, he's more PT Barnum than just another poor president.

The counter attack by the elite is in full swing, that is the main thing you are seeing. I was expecting it, because the EU elite are doing the same thing, mainly by browbeating all hands to stick to the establishment's narrative. I said way back in Nov that Trump knew this was coming, now we see how he adjusts to it.

I do think that we are likely in a holding pattern till Cleveland, then we see. Trump waited too long to adjust, he made his work more difficult, I am sure that he is kicking himself about that.

Ya, the establishment's narrative is fantasy. It could work, but you know what, long term I dont think it matters, in the end Trump will have proven what he set out to prove, that our leaders are incompetent liars. The elite might or might win this battle, but they will for sure lose the war.

I'm not trying to sell him to you. You asked a question, I answered.

The Democratic nomination will likely go to Hillary Clinton. I don't oppose her because she is a woman. I oppose her because she is a consummate politician, and I don't mean that in a good way.

The first time she demonstrated this was her handling of the sex scandals surrounding her husband both before and after he was elected President. I've watched her progression ever since. She's done exactly what she needed to get where she is now. She's a manipulator, a back-room negotiator, willing to do whatever is necessary for personal advancement...a very driven woman.

But we really don't know what she is truly capable of, what her real goals are if she succeeds in being elected President. That worries me more than the buffoonery of Trump.
