Is Glenn Beck a Fake?

Is Glenn Beck a Fake?

I don't like Beck at all, but I'm surprised people think he's fake or in it for the money. I think he values recognition over wealth and he believes what he says, but his arguments are usually extremely flawed. So I guess I'd say his message is genuine but the delivery is fake.

The perfect term for him: Snake Oil Salesman.

If the "entertainment" is insulting to your intellect, will you know it? (think tree, falling, forest).
Those who actually believe him are already lacking in smarts and in need of an education. A new vessel should not be filled with old BS. (biblical reference and slam on today's schools curriculum)
I suppose if he was funny, like Jon Stewart, he would be entertaining. But, and this is just me, if you can't be funny without being insulting, you should be buzzed off the stage immediately. (AGT) Beck is just a sad caricature of an aging, almost dead, comic who was only funny the first time, and rarely has any new material. (Don Rickles)

I thought it was appropriate.

"Snake Oil" often contained genuine drugs that at least had SOME medicinal effect.

Beck's "merchandise" doesn't even rise to the level of snake oil.

But, I also think he is stupid crazy enough to think there's some value to his snake oil.

I agree with most of the other people. I think he cries and pulls off the theatrics for press and for the money.. I think his fame and success has gone to his head, because he seems very egotistical now IMO.

I really do think that Beck failed to meet his own expectations of that Martin Luther event he did..

I think when a republican becomes president, he will be less popular because he won't have a reason to act hysterical anymore.

He's a media personality, folks, an entertainer. He wouldn't make much of a living if he was boring. Besides, he gets talked about more here than at Tea Party rallies.

Well he is either a snake oil salesman or he's in desperate need of medication.

If he's fake he should have went into acting.

I heard someone say once about Beck - "It's like someone took a manic, doom-prophesying hobo off the street, cleaned him up a little, shot him full of zoloft and gave him his own TV show".

I would say so, as being on television is to be fake almost by definition.

On the other hand, I know too many people just like him in the real world to have perfect certainty.
