I should also add: If he is not using his child as some sort of human shield to stop the more conscientious assassins* what the Hell is he doing dragging his child out in public like this? It is weird and creepy.

*This is funny because it implies Elon Musk believes that people who want to kill him would be moral actors who would want to kill him out of a genuine sense of moral outrage, but would not wish to harm a child. That is, he believes his assassins would be good people at heart. It raises the question, what does that make him by his own self-conception?

The free speech absolutist who objected to his plane's being tracked doesn't seem to care that much about keeping his child safe, whether it's by letting him sit astride his (musk's) shoulders or by publicizing his presence.

It is rather disgusting. Were I a notoriously ultra-wealthy man, and certainly were I known to be the richest man on Earth, I would pay real money to make sure nobody beyond my family and closest personal friends knew what my children looked like. I would not be taking my child around riding on my shoulders in public.

I thought he was doing it to manipulate the mom in some way but I would not put that reason past him. The boy is very cute.
 
Elon Musk has publicly admitted he fears an assassination attempt. He appears to publicize nearly every random thought that passes through his head like verbal diarrhea on his social media feeds.

While that is an unwise practice even for twenty-something grocery store cashiers who never leave their hometown, it is an unbelievably stupid thing to do for someone in Musk’s position. Publicity is vulnerability. The more you share, the more of your vulnerabilities the world can identify, and the more avenues there are to manipulate you.

While I realize that social media has its uses for reinforcing messaging and carefully disseminating political propaganda, neither Musk nor Trump seem to be putting any thought into what they share and why. Like most social media junkies, they get triggered and then they immediately vent their frustration publicly without thinking about the potential consequences. That is so dangerous when you are in a leadership position, and not just to yourself but to everyone who is affected by your actions.

He likely doesn't care, only cares about himself, he knows he can always make more living shields if need be in the future. He should be neutered, like a stray vicious dog. That might mellow the bastard out.

Apparently the mother is Grimes. She's expressed her displeasure with Musk hauling around Lil' X (or whatever his name is) in public like this, but I don't know if she's taking it to court.

Consider this: if this was a wanted international terrorist going around in public with his kid wrapped around his head would you believe that terrorist was using the kid as a human shield?
 
I doubt Musk is using a child as a human shield, odds are all the security detail Trump removed from who he does not like has already been reassigned to Musk and others he does like.

If anything, and I agree with others on this, it is an arrogant showing of a publicity stunt.
 
I don’t recall seeing Musk haul his kid around like this prior to the CEO shooting.

And everything about it grosses me out.

The instinct of a parent that loves their children is to protect their child from any potential harm, not subject their child to it.
 
I find this theory extremely possible so I am leaning yes. It's disturbing but as others have said, Musk is disturbing. We all know he ain't father of the year yet this little brat (not the kids fault for being raised by a buffoon) conveniently shows up all over the place.
 
I don't know if it's conscience or not but he most certainly is putting the child at risk.
 
He is about to have a 14th kid, and almost all of them have been through IVF, so he probably views all of them to be disposable.
