I believe that Hollywood has been instrumental in changing the public's perception about Marijuana and that it is an ok drug. Weather you agree with that or not doesn't matter for this discussion. I'm not sure if you've noticed this but there has been an increase, at least according to my observation, of the use of ecstasy in the liquid form of eye drops. This may be Hollywood's next big drug to push, either consciously or subconsciously. It has been portrayed in some recent films and TV Shows, as a "new trend." I just recently saw the film Looper with Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon Levitt, where it was used heavily and it was used in recent episodes of the Canadian Scifi show Continuum. Though they never like to use or mention the word Ecstasy.

I'm also not 100% sure if it's actually Ecstasy being used in these scifi flicks or just some type of futuristic version of a different drug, but from some preliminary research on the internet, Ecstasy seems like the closest match, unless there are some other drugs that can be used as clear eye drops in liquid form that I am unaware of.

I think shrooms and truffles will be next. They are already legal in many countries, and laws against them are utterly unenforceable. You could be growing them right now in your garden without even knowing it.
