Height/weight?

Bmi?

grow up will you ?

we have heard those arguments probably while you were still in kindergarten.

just because you read something that appears to make sense doesn't mean its not total bull****.

yes a low carb diet is slightly more efficient for weight loss but in the end its still calories in vs calories out for the most part.

also low carb diets do not support muscle mass well which may result in good weight loss without any improvement of physique - you simply get smaller.

whats pathetic is you don't even know how to properly sell your own agenda. the reason low fat diets work is because they put the body into ketosis.

Zip up your pants, the ignorance of your statements are hanging out.

Catz was correct, and you are completely wrong and your answer is so stupid I find it hard to think anyone would say that.

PS your kind of ugly goes to the bone buddy.

no you are just not intelligent enough to understand the depth of my post.

whatever. Good protein intake will build your muscle mass. Fat intake isn't the concern everyone thinks it is. It's carbs.

It is a low CARB diet that puts you into ketosis. They burn fat.

OK

Yea calling all poor people fat, stupid and ugly, allot of depth there.

You do realize that protein and dietary fat are converted into fat, as well, right?

You could eat a diet of pure protein, but if you intake more calories than you use up in a day then that excess will be converted to fat. The reason that low carb diets seem to work is because a large portion of one's diet consists of carbs, and so when you cut them out you are significantly reducing your caloric intake.

It's simple thermodynamics.

It's true, many can't prepare a basic meal from simple ingredients anymore. I voted cooking is a skill and hobby. For me it's a life skill. We aren't fancy eaters in our house, but we don't buy much pre-prepared food and cook mostly from scratch. It's healthier and cheaper.

My specialty is homemade gourmet style pizza with various toppings. Easy to make, the crust is simple and only takes an hour to rise. My latest variation is a pesto sauce. Pesto is a snap to whip up in the blender.

Even if you don't make your own crust, homemade pizza is infinitely superior to all frozen and most delivery options.

I do my own pizza, in my BGE wich is like a brick oven here.

Some dietary fat is broken down or converted into fatty acids, but not all. Protein is not converted into fatty acids.

It's more a matter of being on a 2200 calorie diet and what's the balance of macronutrients? Is it fat 20, protein 30, carbs 50? That'll make you fat unless you are burning the carbs with exercise. Or is it fat 35, protein 45, carbs 20 and the carbs are low glycemic index complex carbs? You probably don't need to workout to lose weight. Your blood sugars will be lower, requiring less insulin. Low IR. It's just better for you.

So you believe that if you are on a completely protein diet and are eating in excess of your daily caloric maintenance level that you will not gain weight?

I am going to marry a girl in a year that cant cook a hungry man meal, trust me its important!

And you can use whatever stuff you have on hand for topping. My daughter rolls out and does the topping for her and her sister's pizza and I make the adult one. I usually roast garlic in olive oil when I heat up the pans, then put the roasted garlic on the adult pizza and we sprinkle the garlicy olive oil over both of them.

My crust recipe I know by heart (makes 2 crusts):

1 cup or a smidgen more warmish H2O
4 tsp yeast
1 T sugar
1 tsp salt
1-2 T olive oil

Mix above ingredients in a bowl and let set till foamy (5 or 10 or 15 minutes or so)

In another bowl put 3 cups flour. I use partially whole wheat and partially unbleached white. I also like to add dried or garden fresh oregano to crust if I remember.

Pour the foamy mixture into the flour and knead for about 5 minutes, then leave to rise for about an hour. Then roll and stretch out dough. Pizza pans should be pre-heating in oven set at 400-425 or thereabouts. You can roast garlic in some olive oil while pans are heating. Then take out pans and put dough on pans, spread a little pasta sauce on dough, then add whatever cheese and toppings you like. Bake for 10 minutes or so. Halfway through baking I rotate the two pizzas so that the one that starts out on the bottom rack gets equal time on the top rack.

Get movie ready and TV trays, then take out pizza, slice, and eat.

Then you're clearly wrong, as what you believe violates the first law of thermodynamics.

Actually it is true. I was on the South Beach diet and lost 20 lbs in the first 2 weeks eating all the protein I wanted.

It has nothing to do with the "first law of thermodynamics" and everything to do with how the human body works.

The first law of thermodynamics refers to a closed system. The human body is not a closed system.
