No, in fact much modern technology has actually accelerated social decline and enabled social pathologies. Child pornography was near non existent 30 years ago for example, and now a market has been created for exploiting kids and which requires extensive law enforcement and prosecutorial resources.
So called “women’s lib” is in fact accelerating social decline because it drives down wages, wastes substantial education resources, and results in fewer children, which is changing societies for the worse.
It’s not hard to be optimistic if one looks at the whole. Also, it’s important for me that my career and profession bring good to the world, and how can I do that if I think we’re all doomed.
