Well, I sure as heck hope you guys never get the idea that you know what's best for my house if you know what I'm sayin.
Tell me that YOUR opinion trumps those of a nation.
I asked you first. You answer my question and I'll be glad to answer yours.
I know it's better for you to make your own decisions about how you live than having me tell you what you can do or not do in your own house.
That is the difference between living in America or living under a communist dictator. Have you ever studied Soviet communism under Lenin and Stalin?
I could not answer that question truthfully and neither could you.
Aw c'mon. Don't cop out like that. You keep defeding dictators and communism. Show us all your reasons for your continued defense of communist dictators.
Just for a second, think about how mixed of an opinion the Iraqi people had/have about us.
Apply that same logic to anywhere around the world.
Not everyone wants what we have.
I suggest you re-read my posts.
You are not getting the point at all.
A lot of people will say what others want to hear to keep living.
Do you live in America?
What I hear you saying is that living in the United States is not necessarily better than living in a communist dictatorship. Is that correct?
Yes I do live in America. I live in Washington to be exact.
Instead of asking you to re-read my posts I will leave you with this tidbit once again.
Your opinion and the opinion of the peoples of an entire nation do not necessarily coincide. Neither your, or my, opinion trumps that of another country.
What you "hear me saying" is that neither of us have the authority to "Dictate" what another country should be.
It's more than "opinion". If you think people living in the Communist Soviet Union or Communist China or Communist North Korea or Communist Cuba have as much freedom and as good a life as those in America, I would seriously question your judgement.
I never said anything about what a country should be. What I said was that America was a far better nation to live in than a communist country or a nation under a dictator. That's what I said.
To you and I freedom is key. To someone else structure is #1.
Good life is subjective to opinion bud. I don't get how you can deny this.
Add "In my opinion" and I would gladly leave your statements alone.
You have been acting as if we could take over the entire world and expect everyone to be happy with our way of life.
Why are there thousands and thousands of people risking life and limb to get in here? People sneak out of Cuba, Mexico, Guatamala, Africa, etc to come here for a better life. Then tell me how many Americans are moving to Cuba, Mexico, Guatamala, Africa, etc. The Soviet Union had to put a wall up to keep people from leaving and shot those that tried. They obviously disagreed with your opinion.

Why do you assume that I have been talking about Americans wanting to live somewhere else?
If I wanted to live in one of those countries, I would. I like America, born and raised, bound to die... In America.
However, I would never pretend that my opinion holds more value than that of another nation. This arguement is flat out ridiculous, you won't admit that good life is subjective to opinion and that yours nor mine hold any ground with someone who differs.
It's cute how you think YOU know best for someone else.
Well, it goes both ways...
We moved OUT of the USA to have a better life, and we now have it.
I know that happens. It's a lot more rare though, and I doubt you moved to a country under a dictatorship or communism.
Correct. I understand your point, and we would not have moved to a place that was not great. That is not saying that they USA is not great, it just didn't suit us at present. There are only some countries that I would even think about living in; Canada, the USA, Australia, France, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, New Zealand or Portugal.
I consider all of those to be far and beyond anything like a dictatorship, third world country or a communist state.
I agree. We have even discussed moving to New Zealand. We live in eastern Washington near Idaho and Canada, just outside Spokane. Canada is only 100 miles away.
We're close to retiring and I think it will be a few miles further north of the Grand Coolie dam on the Columbia River. Beautiful country with plenty of good fishing and wildlife.
I was born in Oregon and we lived in Portland for a while. Used to go to Washington a lot. I knew a few guys from Spokane, they were hicks compared to our surfer lifestyle in Southern California (where I essentially grew up and lived for over 20 years.
Well, the place we moved to is New Zealand, actually.
We live on the north island in a little village right by the beach.
Surf everyday and we have rainforest hikes with waterfalls less than a mile away.
