  • Yes, it's related, but the law is still unjust.

Here's an article that claims Alabama's declining unemployment is because of the state's new law against illegal immigration. Do you think that's a good thing? Why or why not?

The Feds Had Better Stop Alabama

The unemployment rate has been falling everywhere. It dropped from 9.1% to 8.5% nationally during the same period. It did drop faster than that in Alabama, but it varies a lot from state to state, so that's not that unusual. For example, Minnesota has an equally large drop over the same period and Minnesota has very few undocumented immigrants.

I am suspicious of right-wing extremists, and this link is biased and prejudiced.
So, I now know less than before, except that man justs loves to lie.

Alabama's unemployment has dropped from 10% down to 8.1%--almost a two point drop. Have any other states done any better?

Michigan. The GM & Chrysler rescue has worked very well there, there was news on this this morning. From around 14% down to about 9.3%.
