LMAO Are you still using this asinine line? There is nothing even remotely similar with Nixon. With Nixon there was the illegal break in of the Watergate hotel, with the IRS nothing as yet has been found illegal.
In watching these hearings my respect for Russell George just keeps growing. This guy is getting hammered by partisan hacks on this committee and he has not only maintained his composure but keeps redirecting to the facts and circumstances. He has showed absolutely no indication of partisanship or unprofessional behavior. If we had an entire government made up of people like this we'd be head and shoulders above where we are now.

those Democrats are just being Racist. they are hammering Russell George because he is black
they caught the guys who did the break in so according to your logic case closed no need for the Water Gate investigation. FYI they never tied Nixon directly to the break in they got him for lying about knowledge after the fact and covering that lie up
If Obama had his very own Inspector General, why, he'd look like Russell George.Yeah...let's go down that road!
Sure I did. The IRS operation was a GOP operation run by the GOP and then lied about.
It's coming out. Issa is in trouble and George may wind up with contempt of Congress charges, if not obstruction of justice.
But it's a blast to watch you guys spin.
It's comical reading your posts.
You cannot refute the points I made, so you go into these laughable histrionics ignoring reality
You've already lost the argument, unless your new bizarre rightwing meme is that Obama directed the IRS to target progressive groups in order to help his political fortune. Something freakishly Beckian like that. Is that your new obtuse talking point?
That's absolutely not true.Laughable
The IRS specifically targeted Americans because of their political beliefs. This is beyond refute. They even apologized for doing it, yet here you are like a puppet, chirping your laughable talking points
How embarrassing
That's absolutely not true.
They admitted to targeting "tea party" which is conservative, but it didn't target all conservatives. Besides they also targeted "progressive"It is absolutely true
The IRS admitted it. They apologized for it
You can deny reality all you want. Doesn't matter to me one way or the other. If you want to defend those type of gestapo police state tactics than that's on you.
They admitted to targeting "tea party" which is conservative, but it didn't target all conservatives. Besides they also targeted "progressive"
They have no understanding of your placement of country above party and partisan political concerns. The values encompassed by your view are only acceptable to them if they can realize a political advantage from them. You just admitted you and HOJ lied. Nice job.
They purposely targeted almost as many as Tea Party/Religious Groups 250 groups, if not more. Words used to flag these groups for scrutiny were "Constitution", "Bill of Rights", ect. They specifically went after groups that were critical of Obama.
Stop trying to lie, spin and defend what the IRS did. You're siding with gestapo/police state tactics that have no place in this country. This is not about political parties. It's about what's right and what standards we as a people are willing to accept. I don't give a crap how much you and HOJ are in love with Obama. I'll never accept this type of behavior from my Government. If they were targeting liberal groups with the same level of scrutiny (and they weren't) it would still be unacceptable.
What part of that do you not understand?

In April 2010, Hull was assigned to scrutinize certain tea-party applications. He requested more information from the groups. After he received responses, he felt he knew enough to determine whether the applications should be approved or denied.
But his recommendations were not carried out.
Michael Seto, head of Mr. Hull's unit, also spoke to investigators. He told them Lois Lerner made an unusual decision: Tea-party applications would undergo additional scrutiny—a multilayered review.
