Wasn't it both Schroeder and She'Rac who won on an anti-american campaign? Isn't it Tony Blair who is being chastised and condemned by his people? Haven't Bush's approval ratings fallen to 38%? Yet you say american people love your way of thinking and america's prospects in the court of world opinion are good. Interesting. It seems to me that the vast majority of americans do not approve and the rest of the world is in agreement with me.
 

Governments...The governments around the world LOVE what we're doing...If they say it publicly, especially in liberal Europe, they would lose support in about 20 seconds. They have to appease their own elitist constituency to stay in office...so they pander...

The "vast majority" of Americans(that's capitalized!) are being sold a bill of goods from your side(No good reports from Iraq; just bad ones...your specialty)...Congrats!...Your lack of resolve has hindered this nation once again...just like Vietnam; a war where we won EVERY major battle and lost the war AT HOME....It's coming around again, and you don't even realize that you're the reason....You should be shameful, but you have no understanding of the word.
 

Once again cnredd puts it in soliditive perspective for Mr. Napoleonic Hitler. If the world agrees wit us then why do we have help from some 80+ countries? Can you answer me this? And since we have been doing evil work how come whenever I would walk the streets of Iraq I would get my hand shaked by the towns people? Little kids would run up to me(prolly casue the chocolate I handed out) and we would interact with them. For being a evil nation we sure got treated awkwardly.
 

Interesting..isn't the job of a government to reflect the ideals of it's constituency? The vast majority of Americans are on my side because they now realize the price payed for pre-emptive war. Almost 2000 dead, no wmds, no connections to 9/11, "no collaborative relationship" with Al Qaeda, no terrorists until after we arrived and they came flooding in from foreign nations, no end in sight to the acts of terrorism, a seemingly endless occupation, and all of this for absolutely no apparent reason. Democracy? Name one nation in history who's government was formed by a foreign nation and not by it's own people and didn't crumble. I'm not the reason for this war. Saddam didn't pose a threat to us and wouldn't have for another 10-20 years and thats assuming the Iraqi people wouldn't have grown some courage and toppled him themselves. It's quite funny that you bring Vietnam up. I don't know a single man who fought in Vietnam and thinks it was the right thing to do. Unless of course he's planning on entering a political race has medals to wave around. Then it's "I won 3 purple hearts so vote for me". No understanding of the world? I'm smart enough to know that if you drive away your allies they'll jump ship when a REAL wave comes and leave you to die.
 

I am looking at a report in the US News & World Report(August 8th) RIGHT NOW...page 23 & 24...

"In fact, before the Pentagon pulls any more troops back, the American force will probably surge higher during the voting scheduled for October & December, thanks in part to overlapping unit rotations. Nevertheless, the increase will last only long enough to protect candidates and polling sites."

Earlier in the story, it mentions there are 35,000 Marines trained and ready...

Where are these Marines coming from?...Obviously, the good ole USA...the same country whose media only shows them the horrible parts of Iraq, and not the humanitarian parts. The same place where most people side on their individual party affiliation instead of what's right.

How motivated are these Marines going to be when they're surfing the internet and seeing people like Napolean Nightengale consistantly slander and defame their Commander-In-Cheif and telling them their future job is based on lies and deceit? When they begin to question their reasons for being there is when they begin to lose focus on WHAT to do while being there...That costs lives and further destroys the resolve.

As long as people like Napolean keep spewing, they will become closer to their ultimate goal....a half-hearted military; then "their side" will win the public, and eventually the power...How the hell do they sleep?
 

We had help from 80 + countries in Afghanistan NOT Iraq. You've also been greeted by bombs and bullets.

The quote you used is only saying that troop presence will be increased by taking a division of the army and marines stationed somewhere else in the world and planting them in Iraq. The facts are that recruitments are down and have been for the past year. The FACTS of this war are what decrease morral because EVERY reason for us going was false. Soldiers SHOULD be questioning these things ESPECIALLY when they're given a VALID reason to. Where are the wmds, connections to 9/11, and collaborations with Al Qaeda 1800 of them died for? The president only mentioned humanitarianism when the public found out that none of those things ever existed. And you still have yet to provide an answer to my question: Can you name 1 nation in history who had an government installed by a foreign nation without the people of that nation playing an active role in fighting for it that didn't crumble in the end?

How is china going to attack? You need a navy for that. All they have is a 100milion man army. Barely an airforce and barely any sam sites. We would crush them in 15min. And I wouldnt depend on italy unless it was to build me a fast car. the us doesnt need the help of any nation to defeat china. I already did a research report on that scenario. I also played that scenario out on a battle simulator. With just america and china at each others throats. America could absolutely wipe out any chinese threat in a matter of 10 days. In todays money it would cost us some 14trillion dollars. And about 10million military personel would be needed.
 

Well guess what..we don't have 10 million military personal. China has both nuclear and biological weapons. If you drive our allies away enough they very well may join China in addition to nations like North Korea, Russia, etc. You should never shrug off a serious threat from China because China is a great power in and of itself and could rally some serious ally power if it chose to. So, The United States vs. the rest of the world? LOL we most certainly would not win with allys like Australia and Italy and most of the other minescule powerless nations that support us in Iraq. We'd experiance economic collapse. The only real power we'd have on our side would be GB which could just as easily be squashed by the rest of the world.You give simulators too much creedence especially when you allow it to account for infinite resources.

Well we most certainly do have 10million miltary personel. We have actually 2million in service now not incl. the reservist. And after pearl we were able to enlist literally about 20million the next day. So I think 10million is slight.

America already virtually took upon the world in 2 WW although granted we had some help with the allies but they were mostly already crippled to the point of breaking.

And dont change what you said. You said we coldnt survive against a war with china. Now you say "well what if the rest of the world was behind them?" That wasnt your original statement my friend. If we went to war with china even with the military we have they would be crushed in a matter of a month(without the use of nuclear weapos on both sides). If use of nukes were permitted the devastation and victory for us would be at an even easier road to victory. We would crush china in a matter of literally minutes with nukes.

China can only use there nuclear ordinance for a 5800mile radius at which they can only launch from there mainland which we already know where and when they would launch. While they would be discussiing which nuke to launch we would already be half way inside china with the use of stealth technology and deploying some of the worlds most revered nuclear weapons. Not to mention we would be harrasing them with our nuclear powered subs with nuks of there own off of there mainland. We also have things called ICBMTO whcih are weapons specifically designed for the use of taking out icbm's. So there goes any imposing threat of nuclear weapons reaching the mainland. No other nation has stealth technology not even Russia. And it is becasue of this is why we are so feared. Russia knows this more than anyone.
 
wait a couple decades...China certainly cannot take the US on at thsi moment, but it is growing quickly. We shouldn't factor nukes in, esp when we know that using them alone, we can destroy the whole world. Regardless of the power we hold today, everytime we drive away allies, we're just hurting ourselves. The best foreign policy is that which serves our interests but at the same time keeps the alliances strong.

True, but we arent going to listen to our alies when there foreign policy fails. I AM SURE THEY WILL NEED HELP BEFORE WE WILL.

This is not accurate. The surge in troop power in Iraq will happen because there is an overlap between Battalions arriving and Battalions leaving. It will last for approximately a month and it is routine. The Marines that will be replacing them are coming from the east coast (Camp Lejeune). 1st Marine Division (west coast) was relieved earlier this year.

Recruitments are always up and down for the Army. This is nothing new. The war has, of course, done it's damage. The Marine Corps missed it's monthly quotas, I believe four times this year, which was the first time in over a decade. However, this being said, yearly quotas for the Corps will be met. I couldn't speak for the Army.

3. You can't exclude China's allys in a war against China. It's all inclusive. I highly doubt you coud take China out in a month or in a few minutes with nuclear weapons. China could take out several major cities and military establishments. Equall to that of the U.S. Even Russia's nuclear arsenal is bigger than ours.

4. The missle defence program is still in it's testing phases. The shield failed 9 out of 10 times during testing hence why the technology is still in it's developing stages. Our steath technology is hardly fool proof. All someone has to do is stomp around and make some noise and the subs are detectable. So no running, playing video games, or dropping pins on submarines.

Doesn't this just raise a great point? Muslim extremists everywhere are preaching to the masses that we are at war with Islam. They preach that this is a religious war between Muslims and infidels (Christians). What should be causing great laughter on this prospect, is that we have nukes. If we were at war with them and we do indeed posses nukes and we are the "great satans", wouldn't we have used them and ended this "War on Islam" decades ago? If it is true that we are the one's that possess the heart of "true terrorist" and we are the one's the "evil" ones...wouldn't we have acted on those sentiments? I'm sure the Islamic extremists would.

I understand how the Muslims in the oppressed Middle East can buy into their religious leaders propaganda, but it amazes me that common sense on the part of our liberal masses is non-existent to this. It's widely known, that a beacon is needed for them to have some sort of a moral compass, but even this is obvious. This alone should smack some sense into the Lib-Dem who can't figure out who the "bad guys" are, but I know better.

And chinas allies are the following: North korea, Vietnam, mabe Russia. Thats it.

I am positive china would be a pile of rubble in a few min with nuclear ordinance. And read what I just stated. Theres no way that china could land a nuke here on our soil. And russia has half the nuclear arsenal that we do. That is a fact my friend. the program you speak of was in its testing in the begining of the cold war. We have then perfected the use of laser guided ordinance so therefore your notions on this subject are wrong. We could easily sheild ourselves against chinas nuke attacks. Russia couldnt hold up in a war scenario with us becasue of our stealth program. Even they needed the help of foreign power to get there own sub out of harms way. Which happened this last week.

Now back in the cold war up until the 70's it was said that if we went on a all out war with russia they would exterminate our air force in the matter of 17min. Since then we have overcome alot of the problems with our military. Russia now becasue of there state of being and there economy they wouldnt even be able to put up a fair fight against an all out war against the US.

Marine Corps - 176,000
Army - 450,000
Navy - 300,000 (and lowering)
Air Force - 400,000

These are very close "approximates". Without the reserve side....there are roughly 1,200,000 active duty. There is no way there are more reserves than there are active duty.

Actual combat troops are far less than the total. The majority of the Marine Corps are combat effective to include the administrative, supply types. The Army's combat effective is a fraction of their total and their administrative, supply types are just that (Jessica Lynch). The other two branches have other duties.
 
with the amount of nukes russia and the US has, it deosnt really matter who has more. Both have enough to destroy the world. If the US were to launch nukes against China, I think Russia wouldn't think twice to fire back. Besides the idea is that the extent to which we'd have to use nukes in a nuclear war would ensure destruction of most of the world. Thus, factor out nukes, and then appraise the military power of nations.

You can't forget that WWII was a different time. Patriotism flourished. In today's world of conspiracy nuts diminishing morals, America is full of fat ass liberals that would rather watch war on TV than serve their country. They in turn, teach their children everything they need to prepare them for a life time of escaping responsibility.

They could be learning patriotism from their schools as they recite the "Pledge of Allegiance"....oh wait. Never mind. I forgot..unlike other countries who teach pride in nation...our country's liberals have found the recitation of such dribble as a violation of our rights to hate and despise.
 

The test I spoke of was done with the laser technology and the results are why theres so much controversy over whether or not a 1 out of 10 success rate warrents spending billions on the program. You are very misguided indeed if you truly believe that there's some magical technological shield protecting america from all missiles. And since when does a nuke have to be restricted to a missile to get here? Colon Powel stated that there are many nuclear bombs in the form of suitcases floating around and Russia is "missing"4 nuclear warheads out of it's arsenal. If we go against China and it's allys there's no denying that both sides would be severly damaged. If all we have left are nuclear subs we would lose as a human race anyway. An all out attack with nuclear subs would utterly obliterate the earth and the enviornment. There wouldn't be much left of a United States to defend after an all our nuclear war.
 

It wasn't just patriotism..it was a fight for survival in general. 99% of the worlds countries don't recite their national anthem or pledges..in fact, in Germany it's considered taboo post Hitler and they are still a patriotic people, none moreso than the French. America is a young nation, Europe is very old and they are weary of war..you shouldn't judge them because of it you should appriciate their wisdom. Patriotism doesn't require one to advocate war. We're both patriots, we simply have different opinions on whats best for this nation.
