And until the Iraqi majority Shia realize they have to address the issues created by themselves, we will be there for years upon years.Removing the troops was disastrous for Iraq and humanity over the short term and unless the democracies change their attitudes quickly, it will be even more serious over the longer term.
Right now Canadians, Australians and the Brits, great Allies all, are fighting in Iraq against ISIS. More should definitely become involved.,
Terrorism is an international problem and if you're going to start a war you should finish it. To cut and run has never been a part of the American tradition. I hope policies change after the next election and the democracies can organize under American leadership.
As well, a President is elected to lead and do what is best for the country. If following the polls is all it takes then billions might be saved by not bothering with elections.

Obama didn't push at all because he had promised to remove the troops from Iraq. Most thought this was an election gimmick and not to be taken seriously. Romney, and most everyone else certainly thought so, as you can see from this debate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1E7j7K3ksUg
In fact the situation was created by the Coalition forces while the Iraqi people were under a dictatorship. They were later abandoned in 2011 and the Islamists, who were always fighting Coalition troops as well as murdering the Iraqi people, were allowed gain power. And until the Iraqi majority Shia realize they have to address the issues created by themselves, we will be there for years upon years.
But sadly that is not the political situation on the ground.
Recall it was the Americans who started the war. If you start it you own it, remember? No, you guys handle it, can't the Canadians, the British and the Australians handle this rag tag bunch of criminals. Jesus Christ, what kind of militaries do those three big countries have anyway.

By a consensus amongst American intelligence agency in its annual 2006 NIE, that war, the very invasion and occupation of Iraq, is the reason we have what we have today, was the direct responsibility for an increase in global terrorism, and made America less safe, yet there's folk here blaming Obama for the mess, discounting Bush's NIE assessment!!
Your opinion is quite irrelevant here. The fact is that the United States led a military Coalition into Iraq and then later made the ludicrous claim, by Obama, that they could unilaterally determine that the war was over. There seems to be millions who don't understand that it takes a minimum of two parties to declare and end to a war. The other side, as we can see, has not abandoned the war and continues murdering anyone in their way, just as they did prior to the Military taking control of the area until 2011, and Obama's retreat.Don't remind me of that, I was the one of a handful that opposed it at the run up, commencement, throughout its course, to its completion and withdrawal. Regularly reminding you of what a mistake it was and how that now, the majority of people agree with what my position was, all along.

You have what you have and are eventually going to have to deal with it. Time to look at the future with some coherency rather than running about like Chicken Little debating whose fault it all was.By a consensus amongst American intelligence agency in its annual 2006 NIE, that war, the very invasion and occupation of Iraq, is the reason we have what we have today, was the direct responsibility for an increase in global terrorism, and made America less safe, yet there's folk here blaming Obama for the mess, discounting Bush's NIE assessment!!

That doesn't matter. The fact is that a Coalition of military powers, led by the United States, attacked Iraq, captured Saddam so he could be put on trial by the Iraqi people, introduced democray, made Iraq 'stable' and then withdrew, despite and against all advice.
It is America's war, not George Bush's war or Barrack Obama's war. Terrorists will kill any American they can by any means they can, and care not whether they are Democrat or Republican, Christian, Jew, Atheist, or Muslim. America, no matter what that goofy BHO claims, is still at war. And some, like yourself perhaps, are still debating whose fault it was without, like Obama, having any clear strategy to deal with that reality.

I think that as a US citizen, my opinion trumps yours. :lamo
We're not scared. Take your fear mongering elsewhere.
Former U.S. Army Ranger and Indiana native Peter Kassig, who later changed his name to Abdul-Rahman, served in the Iraq war and founded an aid organization for Syrian refugees.
Wait, was he killed? Do you have a video? Guys like you are so funny, you believe what is written on the wall and don't search for any proof. But, they killed Abdul-Rahman and other Muslims, so why shouldn't a Westernized Muslim worry about ISIS, at least in theory?

Abdul-Rahman (Peter Kassig) probably wasn't scared either.
Not until he was.
You don't need to be scared to be conquered or killed.
Just unwary and unprepared.
You seem like an advertisement to encourage both.
(Despite any denials, I believe you are a Muslim.)
But, they killed Abdul-Rahman and other Muslims, so why shouldn't a Westernized Muslim worry about ISIS, at least in theory?
Of course you are, but the US Military certainly isn't.We're.............not.............scared!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, yes, you're very brave, I'm sure. You must have been using the Royal 'we' then when you said, "We're.............not.............scared!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"I wasn't talking about the military, but myself.
