I'm wondering how deep this insurgent infiltration of Iraqi forces both in the Iraqi army, police and elsewhere, goes?

I'm almost convinced that as soon as the Americans leave that the Iraqi army will not only stand down to the insurgents but will probably flock to their side in droves.

Finally, I'm also convinced that this incident has probably happened hundreds of times but that the Pentagon has quitetly hushed it up.

When the Pentagon resorts to lie after lie, let's face it guys, Bush has lost in Iraq. It's over people, let us start our withdrawal plans with some semblence of dignity and our country's soul still intact.

Two California soldiers shot to death in Iraq were murdered by Iraqi civil-defense officers patrolling with them, military investigators have found.

The deaths of Army Spc. Patrick R. McCaffrey Sr. and 1st Lt. Andre D. Tyson were originally attributed to an ambush during a patrol near Balad, Iraq, on June 22, 2004.

But the Army's Criminal Investigation Command found that one or more of the Iraqis attached to the American soldiers on patrol fired at them, a military official said Tuesday...

Uhhh......no.

I don't think so.

In fact, I think we should go after these assholes harder than we ever have before.

This is very unfortunate, but it's hardly the norm there, you forgot to quote the part where the investigators called this "extremely rare"

I am sure this is a concern though, but it's probably more of a concern for the Iraqi's, rarely would these cowards have the guts to take on one of our boys, they usually stick to terrorizing their own broken people. Still, if one had a shot to shoot an American in the back, I don't doubt that this is exactly what they would do, but again, that's "extremely rare" and no cause to pack up and leave.
