CBS reports today that after learning about President Trump's remarks of the possibility of withdrawing troops from other countries besides Syria Iraqi leaders now demand we withdraw our military forces from their nation. I believe this is about the third time since we invaded their country they have wanted us to leave. Why then in the name of Heaven do we insist on staying where we are not welcome?

Is this another example of a forced regime change that we are now hearing more and more about? If so this is a most tragic loss of human life and precious tax dollars we could imagine. All the money we keep pouring into these countries far exceeds the cost of the wall our President so desperately wants to build to protect us from those who wish to illegally invade our country.

It is exactly this type of regime change our founding fathers warned us against and how right they are. No wonder we are getting so disliked around the world. Our national debt certainly could be reduced a great deal if we would withdraw our military from places they are neither wanted or constitutionally allowed to be in.

Time for the bumbling occupation of Iraq by the US Military to end...They aren't wanted.....They need to leave

Well Barry wanted us there, so we’d better see if there was a reason behind it.

We are washed up in the ME due to poor performance there, well there and most everywhere else actually, and there is no evidence that we might decide to be better anytime soon.

Wake The **** Up!

Last time ISIS came and took their country, and then they wanted the US troops back in.

Is this going to be a repeat of that?

I'm sure you'll get a message from the mods about posting rules for MM forum. Gotta put a link, and a quote and not the whole article. Welcome to DP tho, prolly they'll just warn ya.

Many Americans, who are NOT connected in some way with the military-industrial complex, thank those Iraqi leaders for their expulsion order.

Hopefully, President Trump will accede to their demand.

Sadly, though, all the armchair generals (both Democratic and Republican) have become so unhinged because of President Trump's Syria and Afghanistan policies that they will just double down on their silent coup d'état to overthrow our constitutionally elected president.

Never have we ever had a president with the guts to stand up to the powers that be. Sadly, those powers that be are going to show him that the president of the United States of America is no match for them. They want the incoming Democratic president to know that they can break him/her, too, if necessary.

This president can't even fire someone face to face, and you claim he has "guts"?

Everything you say is true, but the reason we're there is because a number of people are making big money from our occupation. We abandoned morality decades ago, but we sure likes our $, just as much as Gollum liked the Ring. ;)

Perhaps, but it's up to them as a nation to decide.
It is.

But I'm less inclined to continue to shed blood and treasure for the same ground multiple times.
