The Iranian situation is all of our doing. If you will recall, more than a decade ago we knew without a doubt that Iran wasn't going to give up nuclear ambitions because we asked them to or threatened them. The only way it was going to stop would be to go to war. We knew we weren't going to go to war with Iran yet we told the world we would never allow Iran to have nuclear weapons, knowing full well that we would. Empty threats from a super power are a very stupid idea. Way back then we should have left Iran alone or gone to war. We didn't do either. Now we are looking like fools for being a superpower and not behaving like one. It is time for us to withdraw from the whole thing and learn to keep our mouths shut in the future. Sword rattlers should be fired publicly.

It is beyond belief that a country full of people smart enough to have become the richest and most powerful country can behave so stupidly in international affairs and develop a government with world class incompetence. Yet we do it time and again. We should be fired as the global police department. Let the Chinese take a swing at it.

Lets try this again: "The problem with this, is that access to military sites (AKA the PMDS, Possible Military Dimensions) of Iran were never part of the P5+1 talks.... They are being handled directly by the IAEA, and Iran has provided 3 of the 5 areas to their PMD's.. It also doesnt help that the US military has stated that Iran gave up its military nuclear program in 2003."

If their goal is peaceful use of nuclear power, and the lifting of sanctions, why restrict those 2 areas?

Nope I am not. There are two negotiations going on. The P5+1 talks, and then there is Iran-IAEA talks. The IEAE-Iran talks are separate. The IAEA and Iran greed to resolve PMD investigation in a step by step manner.
