I present to you the strange case of one Mehran Karimi Nasseri!
 
A fascinating story it its own right certainly.

I liked The Terminal too.

Never saw the flick, and wasn't even aware of it.

I did remember the case though, but only early-on in it's occurrence.

Nasseri's returning to the terminal to pass would have provided quite the epilogue in the movie.
 
Bizarre. How did the guy eat? Wash clothes? Buy new clothes?

Surely he didn't sit in his own filth for 18 years, unlike some posters here.

At first his story of being a 'man without a country' is compelling...but in the end he ends up like a common homeless guy who simply chooses that lifestyle.
 
The French government and people are to be commended for their humanity.

So sad that Sir Alfred presumably never found his beloved mother.
