This is simply false.
It's very sad that people continue to repeat these dangerous claims.
As for the speech, it was unspectacular. Same old talking points mixed with religious dogma, I hope Iranians will at least elect someone more pragmatic in the future.
I say we invite them all to have some airtime together to express their misunderstood points of view.......and in the meantime drop a bomb on them:mrgreen:
And I find it terribly ironic that these sentiments come from the followers of the peaceful and loving son of God, Jesus.
Imagine if you had this same amount of outrage to those who want to kill Americans.... :2wave:
Right cause you say so.... Evidence is plenty,, go ahead and google it..
Yup, same old crap from a despot.
I see no reason as to refuse him airtime to wish people Happy Christmas apart from predjudices.
Ahmadinejad has never called for the extermination of any group of people in the Middle East. No amount of "googling" will make it otherwise.
A despot who won an election with a pretty large turnout against several competing candidates?
And I find it terribly ironic that these sentiments come from the followers of the peaceful and loving son of God, Jesus.
Yeah, he never said anything like this at all.
You're just like all those old Soviet sympathizers that were accurately described as "useful idiots" for their unceasing support for totalitarian dictators.
Another toadie, eh? He won an election where opposition candidates cannot get on a ballot without the explicit approval of the mullahs.
You know, we have useful idiots like this littering our State Department. Fools that characterize countries like Saddam's Iraq and Iran as "democracies"
And what are going to be your rightious words of wisdom if we stand back and do nothing...only to see Iran having success in their stated intentions of annihilating Isreal?......("Oops")?
People die, nations fall. As long as the one that falls is not innocent I fail to see any good in stopping events already set in motion.
Israel is already a failed nation. It only survives because of hand outs from the U.S.People die, nations fall. As long as the one that falls is not innocent I fail to see any good in stopping events already set in motion.
Wow! I'm at a complete loss for words here! I guess if you saw a pediphile trying to coax a young child into a car you would just stand back and watch because events are set in motion!?
Israel is already a failed nation. It only survives because of hand outs from the U.S.
Ahmadinejad is just pointing out the obvious.
As more and more countries see Israel for the evil and rogue state that it is.
Israel will become isolated to the point that it will collaspe and the Zionist rulers will be driven from office and arrested for crimes against humanity.
He certainly never called for the extermination of any group of people in the Middle East.
Claiming Israel is an illegitimate state which should cease to exist is not the same as calling for the death of it population.
If you ever choose to educate yourself on this issue you will find his positions on the Israeli-Palestinian issue are easily available and involve all the people in the region surviving and living in peace with one another.
He said: "Anybody who recognises Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation's fury, [while] any [Islamic leader] who recognises the Zionist regime means he is acknowledging the surrender and defeat of the Islamic world." He was addressing a conference titled The World Without Zionism.
Heh, you're a bit like Joe McCarthy!
Those elections were by no means perfect, nor have I ever claimed otherwise.
They did however represent a broad enough portion of the Iranian population to bring over half of them to the polls. To claim a person who competes in competitive election and shares power with both a legislative and "religious" branch of government is a despot, shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the word.
The US state department used to charecterized Iraq as a democracy?
I knew US bureaucracy's aren't that highly regarded, but I didn't know the situation was the dire!
So, why are 80 members of the 290-member Islamic Consultative Assembly — the Iranian parliament — behaving like an opposition and holding a sit-in amid threats of mass resignation?
The reason is that the next general election, to be held on Feb. 20, could end the parliamentary career of many of them, not because of rejection by voters but because they won’t even be allowed to stand.
A couple of months ago Richard Armitage, the No. 2 at the U.S. State Department, described the Islamic Republic of Iran as “a sort of democracy.”
Well, he was sort of right if by democracy we mean the holding of regular elections without bothering about their quality and purpose.
In a normal democracy anyone who does not have a criminal record and meets basic qualifications, such as citizenship, is allowed to stand for elected office. But this is not the “sort of democracy” that Iran has had since the mullahs seized power in 1979.
In Iran all candidates must be pre-approved by a body known as The Council of the Guardians of the Constitution, a 12-man, mullah-dominated organ appointed by the “Supreme Guide” and answerable to him...
While I don't agree that Israel is being propped up.
Israel recieves 3 billion dollars a year from the U.S.
Saying they receive financial aid and saying they are being propped up are two completely different things.
It's just a load of propaganda.
People are just buying into his crap hook, line, and sinker.
Not to anti-Semites whose only interest in such discussions is to smear the Jews and advocate their elimination.
Without the money, weapons, and military backing of the U.S.Saying they receive financial aid and saying they are being propped up are two completely different things.
Without the money, weapons, and military backing of the U.S.
Israel would collaspe and be over run by the nations against her.
Sort of like calling for the abolishing of the state of Israel is the same as genocide of all Jews in the eyes of someone like yourself?
And judging someone solely by 3 sentences is not "buying into" propaganda? Do yourself a favor and think for yourself.
