Do you think we will attack Iran in the near future?

Also, would you support an attack on Iran (Provided they do not give up their nuclear program)?

Yes & Yes

However, I would be cautious in doing so. From all reports I've seen in general - a good portion of citizens in Iran are against the current president, and the manner in which the government runs the country.

So, I would explore the possibility of an internal revolt - and if it looks good - give them all the help they need.

No, probably not. We really aren't able to launch an effective attack.

Depends on the circumstances. There are more things to consider than whether or not they give up their nuclear programs.

Yes I think we will attack them, I think it's been part of the plan from the beginning.

No, I don't think we should simply due to their nuclear programs. They have just as much right to nuclear power as anyone else in the world.

Really? Why does a zealous theocracy led by apocalyptic leaders have the right to nuclear weapons? Explain that one to me.

Of course they are. Once they have advanced nuclear power, they're no more than a few months and the turn of a key away from having nuclear weapons. It is simply not physically possible to allow them to have nuclear power while somehow preventing them from having nuclear weapons.

You place great trust in Iran's limitation of their nuclear technology to power generation, don't you?

Especially since they have been blathering on about their rationales for employing such weapons.

I think we will attack Iran in the near future.

I also think we should attack Iran with airstrikes on their nuclear sites.

Hell, we've overthrown the government of Middle Eastern countries before, we can do it again! Let's get three cheers for the CIA!

We certainly may end up doing pin-point strikes to remove nukes or other sites. No big invasions though. My support is determined by the circumstances, so I'd have to wait to determine my choice.

Why does anyone?

If you did attack Iran, what do you think the average Middle East resident will think?

Also what do you imagine Iran's response to be?

Because plenty of other dangerous regimes have them. Thats why.

That's a ridiculous reason and you know it. You don't go handing out free anthrax to terrorist groups just because a few terrorist groups might have access to it; similarly, you don't allow dangerous states to develop nukes just because a few other dangerous states have them.

Oh dont you? Then why do so many 'dangerous' states have them?

Moreover, ever wondered how so many states have ended up with them?

Similarly, given that nukes are the ultimate self defence weapon. Why wouldnt any regime want to have them?

And more and than that. Dont you think its funny that your asking Iranians to not have nukes but not asking other states to not have them either? If you were an Iranian what would you think about that? Wouldnt you be a bit miffed about that?

It doesn't matter what "the average Middle East resident" thinks when it come to defending our country.

Iran may respond by trying to hit Israel with something.

It doesnt matter what they think? Kind of a shoot first, ask questions later strategy, brilliant.....and yet you're surprised they hate you!

Maybe so, maybe not. So you're going to put Israel in jeopardy before anything can happen right?

When it comes to the defense of this country, why should we have to pass a "test" ("Test" meaning only taking action if it is OK with them.) in order to defend ourselves?

Israel would want us to take out Iran's nuclear sites. Israel might even do it before we do.

Why yes, it matters greatly what the average Middle East resident things when it comes to defending our country, because the average Middle East resident can become a threat to our country. Do they hate America? If so, they might support terrorism, or fly planes into our skyscrapers. Don't you listen to your own side's propaganda? You gotta "win the hearts and minds!"

Defending our country comes before winning the hearts and minds.

Defending our country comes before winning the hearts and minds.

Oh, please! You can't defend the country very well when the hearts and minds of millions of people are dead set on destroying it! Defending the country does not equal creating threats, and that's what's happenening. This is basic logic, I know you can follow along!

Do you think we should have to pass a "test" in order to defend our country?

A marksmanship test, maybe. ;)

No and no.

The Americans have seen what happened in Iraq and I bet they would not do the same mistake again. Furthermore, if Iran already has WMD's, nobody will dare attacking them. That's what happens in North-Korea too.

And I would not support it neither: many bellicist countries already have lots of nukes. Pakistan & India, Israel...and Russia! They were not more friendly than Iran and had thousands of nukes, but have they used one against anybody? No! Because it's a defensive weapon. A dissuasive weapon. Its purpose is to sanctuarize a country. If Iran has nukes, it just means the US won't invade it. That's their goal.
