I am guessing that"National Intelligence Daniel Coats"is guilty of NOT KISSING trumps ample *** on a daily basis.:2wave:

<Director of National Intelligence Daniel Coats will leave his position next month, President Trump announced Sunday, capping a tumultuous relationship in which the two were often at odds over the wisdom of negotiating with Russia, the status of Iran’s nuclear weapons program and the severity of foreign threats to U.S. elections. >

<Trump said in a tweet that he would nominate Rep. John *Ratcliffe (R-Tex.), a third-term congressman and prominent supporter, to replace Coats.>

<The announcement comes just days after former special counsel Robert S. Mueller III warned on Capitol Hill that Russia will seek to interfere in U.S. elections in 2020.>

<Ratcliffe launched a spirited defense of Trump at that hearing on Wednesday, grilling Mueller about why he had provided evidence of Trump’s possible obstruction of justice in his probe if, as Mueller wrote, he never intended to decide whether the president had committed a crime. >

<“You wrote 180 pages . . . about decisions that weren’t reached, about potential crimes that weren’t charged or decided,” *Ratcliffe said, arguing that Mueller had deviated from normal prosecutorial standards and treated Trump unfairly. >

There goes the last grown-up in the room. I haz a sad. :(

The man who is Trumps pick is Texas congressperson John Ratcliffe. For those who did not see it, Ratcliffe embarrassed himself and his position with a public ass kissing for Trump at this last weeks Mueller hearings. He said Mueller had no authority to write Volume 2 of his report on obstruction of justice. He is a Trump toady and sycophant is a terrible choice for this important position.

We can only hope the GOP dominated Senate gets some backbone and resists this horrible nomination.

Sir, I submit that the Republican-controlled Senate of the United States of America is essentially a rubber stamp for President of the United States of America Donald Trump. It's a case of mutual back-scratching. The 'conservatives' in the Senate are re-payed by the Presidential approval of appointments to the courts.

Has anyone kept track of the 'Tea Party' small government folks? They appear to have little effect on, say, the budget agreement currently undergoing approval.

Yes, you are correct. Trump has a rubber stamp Senate and McConnell is more than happy to carry the foul water for Trump. It is very sad and with this nomination he is going to had our national security apparatus over the the wackos on the far right who will use it to pursue right wing wet dreams. This is a very tragic time for Americans who love their country.

Beat me to it. That’s what I was going to say when I saw the topic.

Coats was not hesitant to tell #45 when he disagreed with his policy. A right wing cheerleader is going to reinforce bad policy. This leads to a problem called group-think, lacking the airing of contrasting views.

Ass kissing mooch RATcliffe. How surprising.

Ratcliffe will be the Bill Barr of Intelligence Directors.

The Tea Party was never small government. All the Tea Party was is a rebranding of the same old Religious Right that has been around for decades.

Correct. The tea party was an astro turfed oligarch movement that considered itself small government while championing authoritarian measures like the end of abortion.

This country is having a huge reckoning right now and it will either slide further into the maw of the abyss or we will oust the clowns like Trump and their fraudulent cabinets. We have zero reason to have an awful healthcare system, to deny science, to enable pollution. None. At all.

We ignore the science of other countries for fear the right will claim socialism.

This has gone on long enough, and if the right wants to say "Your race card has expired", well, their socialist card expired ****ing decades ago, right alongside the COMMUNIST USSR.

Yeah. That is so not happening.

I would offer that he has the potential to be worse.

I predicted that the 2020 election would be a complete ****show. This guarantees it.

Ratcliffe was interviewing for the job last week. Looks like he sufficiently proved to Trump that he could ram his head up Trump's ass.

He will deliver his opinion that Russians did not interfere in the 2016 election on behalf of Trump shortly.

Exactly. This is one of the absolute nominations Trump has ever made. It is obvious what he prizes first and foremost and that is blind loyalty above all else.

And apparently he liked the view from that vantage point and Trump had a great level of comfort with his efforts.

Just wondering how do you define Libertarian???

Anti-authoritarian, freedom of the individual from the state, as a left libertarian I do not recognize ownership of natural resources, etc. Why?

Just wondering. There are a lot of definitions for each of the labels the site gives us to choose from. Thanks for responding.

Note - I'm typing SIAP -. The tea party is more libertarianism than Libertarianism. Meaning more smaller gov't (libertarianism) than religious influence in gov't (Libertarianism). Rand Paul is tea party. Religious influences in gov't is not tea party.
