Got a job? If you are like many millennials, you don't, despite of the government's assurance that the economy is improving.

Inside the Dark Reality Of Obama's Job Numbers

Last month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the nation added 162,000 jobs. This follows Obama's claim that he has created 4.5 million private sector jobs, "more during the entire seven years before this crisis."

What could be wrong with 4.5 million jobs? FactCheck.Org challenged Obama's claim that he has created 4.5 million jobs on the basis that his figures are not based on his full term. The figures cherry-pick the bottom of the recession as a baseline, thus ignoring the nearly 4.5 million jobs that were lost during his first year in office. If you include government jobs, the nation has lost more than 400,000 jobs since Obama took office.

Understand not all jobs are created equal.

The number of jobs is a poor raw indicator of the economy. If someone loses a job in manufacturing that pays $39,000 and takes two part-time jobs to survive, the jobs numbers suggest that the economy has created a job even though two halves do not make a whole. AP reports that part-time work accounted for more than 77% of the positions employers added this year. Only 22% of the jobs are in mid-paying industries. In the net, employers are not investing capital in new employees.

The economy is not producing jobs for anyone. The jobs that it is producing are not stable, and demonstrate a lack of commitment by business. Millennials are immediately downstream of this mix because they are just entering the job market. They lack the seniority that can enable a worker to maintain a job through a downturn. As millennials enter the job market, they largely get to pick from what jobs are being created, part-time low wage work.

These job dynamics have long-term consequences on the economy, dealing with birth rates and home buying. They have serious consequences on the health of government programs like Social Security. Mostly, millennials are not acquiring job skills that will help them advance in the job market.

Meanwhile, the Department Of Labor is hiring people for their rose-colored glass division.

It's not just the job numbers that are being " tweaked" its Obama's entire economy.

It's basically being propped up with massive FED stimulus. The stock markets gains are a lie, and so is our interest rates as the mere hint of discontinuing QE throws the DOW into turmoil.

It's a massive house of cards thats perpetuated and not honestly reported on to make Obama and the Democrats look more competent than they actually are.

Its his biggest lie yet. The Feds pumping is for one reason, as the banks sit on nearly record levels of reserves, and thats to make Obama's massive new debt cheap...

For now anyway as the Fed buys up record amounts of short term treasuries and loads up their books with toxic securities from the sub-prime debacle.

thing is, they're not Obama's numbers ... they're our numbers ... they were worse before and guess who won in 2012?

No things were not " worse".

I realize your ideology is being exposed here but to say things were "worse" just makes you look ignorant and WE didn't make the really dumb decision to elect a Jr Senator with ZERO qualifications to run our Country and our economy into the ground.

Yea we know who was elected in 2012 and it shows as life for the average American citizen gets a little harder and harder and the middle class slowly shrinks.

Yea blame the GOP, blame Bush , its so pathetic. It's like Obama's hard core supporters are all 5 year olds.

Everything from poverty rates to levels of dependency to our debt has gotten worse in the nearly 5 years Obama's been President. New jobs are part time jobs and that's not even getting into his Foreign Policy fiasco's

You need to change your priorities and instead of covering the ass of a obvious failure, start defering to reality.

Fen, Fen, Fen ... What is it with you cons never wanting to take responsibility for anything and then getting in the way when someone tries to clean up your mess? And aren't you being a bit harsh on the GOP House? Give them a chance, they may stop failing at some point ...

LOL !!!

Blaming Bush, how pathetic.

It's pathetic because wev'e been through this and your'e so married to your corrupted belief system you refuse to see reality.

I mean first, you make sone ridiculous statement claiming our econpmy has gotten better but when its pointed out to you how desperate the situation is you go into your blame routine.

Make up your mind. 5 years in and thats ALL YOU HAVE. A childish and weak attempt at blaming the party thats not in power.

We've seen what kind of damage the Democrats have done when they had total control. Obama's green jobs iniative, stimulus, ObamaCare ?

Your'e saying we need MORE of that ??

LOL !!!

And there are 40 jobs bills from the House sitting in the Senate that will never see the light of day.

a little story since your posts are getting increasingly childish ...

Once upon a time a group of men, let's call them Gopers, took a car with no gas in it (they had emptied it irresponsibly) to the top of a hill and pushed it down the hill and watched it pick up speed as it headed toward a deep depression in the road ... then out of no where came this guy, let's call him Blackman, and he jumped into the car, almost getting killed, and he applied the brakes ... but the car had picked up so much speed that it took a while to stop it ... and meanwhile, when the Gopers saw what Blackman was doing, they ran down the hill and tried to push it down and kept it up even as Blackman started to push the car up the hill and even kept blaming him for making the car go down the hill and then for not getting it up the hill faster ... they then tried to claim the car, but the people saw what they were doing to Blackman and gave the car to Blackman instead and said they would give the car to Whitewoman in 2016 if the Gopers kept it up (BTW, during all this, the Gopers tried sticking vaggie probes in the women and in retaliation for not getting the car from the people, they started trying to take away the votes of the people who voted to give Blackman the car) ... we'll have to wait to see how the story ends ...

Didn't read it...Lol.

Obama, king of the part time jobs !!

They were as meaningless before the election as they are after. I don't know that anyone won in 2012. The American people as a whole lost.

without question we're always going to lose as a whole, as long as we have the political system we have and the extreme concentration of power and wealth in so few hands ... but the loss and pain would have been much worse had Romney won ... Can you imagine a Republican picking another Supreme Court Justice?

The job numbers are reported the same way they were reported under Bush

The numbers are bad....DUH-HUH!! Obama have been asking the right wing to cooperate for the last 5 years ....and instead of helping ....they're actually taking measures to worsen the situation.

In Obama first term the right wing tactic was to tear down the economy to ensure Obama was not re-elected.
In the second term the tactic is to ...Tear Down the Economy... to ensure his legacy is tarnished.

The calculation is the same, but the composition of jobs is different. There is no legacy to tear down. His economy turns full time jobs into parttime jobs. Where is the legacy in that.

A quote from an article for you :

"The opinions of people who are worried about the economy likely rest with job creation and the stagnation of wages. Unemployment at well over 7% remains much higher than what experts believe reflects national economic health. The real wages of Americans who make the national median household income have fallen in the past decade. The prices of most of the things they need to cover daily living expenses have risen."

that's too bad ... I wrote it at a 4th-
grade reading level just for you ...

Says the poster who's so economically ignorant you think things have "improved " since 2008.

And yes, you write on a 4rth grade level.

LOL....Obama is responsible for his own joke of a legacy and blaming our current economic situation on the Right is childish.

The first 2 years of Obama's presidency is what your'e arguing for ?

A green jobs iniative that looked and performed like it was patterned after a 5th grade science project.
