I really hope the healing power of puppies/dogs gets more exposure over time. First of all, they're affection machines, and people who are struggling, whether with addiction, PTSD, etc...can certainly use that affection. They're incredibly loyal, and many struggling folks feel let down with people in general and crave that. They also give their caretaker a sense of purpose. And of course, puppies/dogs need us as well!
