The need to be cautious about what we accept as 'hard' -- that is, factual -- news requires a bit of ratcheting up, again.

Radio station WABC, 770 kHz AM, broadcasting in the NYC area, has started airing segments which include a 'news minute'. This 'news' does take about a minute. That part of it can be trusted. However, the 'news' that is presented contains commentary woven into the presentation of facts. A nice bit of sleight of mouth.

The continuance of a free citizenry is, to some extent, the result of vigilance.
