Inflation rose at the fastest pace in nearly four decades in December, as rapid price gains fueled consumer fears about the economy and sent President Biden's approval rating tumbling.

The consumer price index rose 7% in December from a year ago, according to a new Labor Department report released Wednesday, marking the fastest increase since June 1982, when inflation hit 7.1%. The CPI – which measures a bevy of goods ranging from gasoline and health care to groceries and rents – jumped 0.5% in the one-month period from November.

So the booming Biden economy continues and the American people recognize those results by the continued decline in his poll numbers. This goes to show what happens when hatred, lies, and propaganda put an incompetent into the WH destroying pro growth conservative economic policies that actually employ people and don't pay them to stay home. Supply and demand, Economics 101

The economy is actually rapidly growing right now, that is part of the problem. I don’t think you understand how supply and demand works.

Look on the bright side...inflation, right now, isn't as bad as it's going to get.

We are in for a rough ride, folks.

Oh but it is you that doesn't understand how the economy works, people being paid to stay home aren't producing any goods or services and that drives up demand without supply. The economy moving very good right now FOR YOU but not for the people the claims they want to help, the poor, middle class and homeless. Payments to not work are being eaten up by rising costs.

How many people do you know personally who quit their jobs and stopped working altogether because they got a check or two worth $1200?

why do you make so many things up?

6.3 million Americans are still unemployed with most getting unemployment checks, business remain closed because of the irrational hysteria promoted by the left so no one I know quit their jobs to get unemployment, that doesn't happen for if you quit your job you aren't eligible for unemployment

why do you make things up? Nobody is being paid to stay home. Other than you, who collects his govn't check every month.

the economy is moving very well for everyone.

7% is getting there.. the pain is gonna really hit when the fed start raising rates for everyone
It has no choice with inflation with no end in sight

Funny how trumps recovery didn't have inflation

You just said that the reason we're having inflation is because everyone is choosing not to work because they're getting fat checks from the government. So which is it?

What recovery?

At the same time, wage growth was very striking: average hourly wages rose by 19 cents, the largest increase observed in years. On an annualized basis, this increase amounts to 7.3%. The actual increase observed over the past 12 months is 4.7%. These are impressive wage increases. Though recent inflation has been even higher, thus denying workers an increase in “real wages,”

What recovery?
TDS prevents you from review bls.gov, bea.gov, and treasury.gov plus probably your own back account from January 2017 to February 2020. I know you want to make this about Trump but he has been out of office now almost a year, this is all Biden and his incompetence which you want to ignore continue to promote the liberal ideology buying rhetoric and ignoring results.

The link I posted shows over 10 million jobs available for 6.3 million workers, people do indeed choose not to work and that affects inflation when they are paid not to work
