Of course, this ruins the Republican 'blame Biden' narrative, but Republicans never let the facts get in the way of effective propaganda.

Inflation began in 2021 as a result of the pandemic, with an aside to climate change, but the Russian war on Ukraine has created a perfect storm of inflation.

None of this can be blamed on Biden.

The war is supercharging a three-dimensional crisis — food, energy and finance — that is pummeling some of the world’s most vulnerable people, countries and economies.

And all this comes at a time when developing countries are already struggling with a slate of challenges not of their making — the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change and a lack of access to adequate resources to finance the recovery in the context of persistent and growing inequalities.

Press Conference by Secretary-General António Guterres at United Nations Headquarters

If food and fuel inflation is wordwide and not limited to the USA, that means Biden didn't cause it.

Too much money( the Fed created it ) chasing too little goods ( pandemic based supply line shortages ).

Biden and Trump are equally responsible, along with this Congress and the passed few, and the Fed's Chairman and Board of Governors.

The truth is in math you can not hide from https://www.federalreserve.gov/releases/h41/

Even tho the Fed claims to be trying to bring down inflation it still added $6 billion to it's books in the last week. The Fed only really has one tool to bring down inflation, and that is to sell securities and bring down its' Reserve Bank credit. It can hardly be said they are doing anything when they "printed" $6 billion dollars last week alone to buy securities.

It's not too bad anyway, inflation is a tax we all pay, the nature of the universe is expanding( inflationary matter ) as well as mankind population is expanding. So it only stands to reason the money supply needs to inflate, otherwise you have too many people chasing too little money to buy an ever expanding amount of matter( goods ).

We are just in a flux situation, but I think it's only transitory inflation.

common sense and facts like the ameircan president, in general, is not responsible and doesn't control global inflation or gas prices will be lost on the nutters of politics and these nutters are on all sides mind you.
THe funny thing is I learn this reality in high school decades ago lol

Now if people want to argue a bill, or congress or a move by a president did something like instead of gas currently being 4.50 in my area it could be 4.45, or instead of inflation being 8% it could be 7.7% there are "arguments" and "theories" that can be discussed . . . .

but as soon as sole or main responsibility is laid at the feet of an American president that person has lost all credibility on the topic and they look like the tinfoil hat batshit insane nutter quack they are.

just watch the unhinged triggered meltdowns in this thread because of that fact, cant wait to see them LOL

Bidenflation has infected the entire world's economy.

Like I say, I think it's just transitory inflation.

Tho that doesn't do much to help people in the sort term. Much of our inflation we farm out to the rest of the world, the $USD$ being the "reserve currency" and that normally hits oil producing nations pretty hard, when we "print" and devalue our dollar. In turn they "pump" less oil so as to turn the inflation we farmed out on them back at us.

These might be believable as the only factors if the USA were the only nation in the world.

Bidenflation has infected the entire world's economy.
Yeah, right. The worldwide pandemic, climate change and the Ukraine War had nothing to do with it.

And there's a really good deal on a snowmobile dealership in Miami.

I think the argument would hold if inflation among all developed nations was roughly similar, Peacenik. While inflation is happening worldwide, the inflation in the United States is higher than that of other developed nations. Mind you, those figures were arrived at in November. I have no idea if the gap has remain constant, shrank or widened.

Yeah, right. The worldwide pandemic, climate change and the Ukraine War had nothing to do with it.

For those of us whose memory spans more than two months, inflation was already a much spoken-about problem before late February of 2022, Peacenik.

Moron right wingers don't give a shit about facts so its pointless. They will just keep lying and being the deplorables they are.

And lets not forget the sickening greed as the corporations are making record profits. Why should they help increase supply chain issues if they are making a killing off of the inflated prices? it's ****ing greedy that companys making multi billion dollar quarterly profits needs to continue to raise prices blaming inflation while they take in so mcuh profits already. Of course, to the billinionare fellators, they can't possibly be blamed. Their CEO needs $20M yearly salaries and their shareholders need to keep increasing stock prices at all costs, including harm it cause to everybody else

These might be believable as the only factors if the USA were the only nation in the world.

The $USD$ is the world reserve currency:

Facts are facts and math is still math.
Code:
Reserve Bank credit 4,144,341 Million Week ended Mar 4, 2020
Reserve Bank credit 8,906,114 Million Week ended Apr 13, 2022

That's what, 25 months the Fed "printed" $4.7 Trillion Dollars and that ISN'T what is causing inflation?

Get real.

Becuase we have the greediest companies and American's always get fleeced with pricing because our government works for the wealthy, while Europe goverment has consumer protections and works to protect the people from the greed. in the US, the greed is worshipped. We get fleeced on healthcare and basically subsidize all the pharma and device companies paying premium pricing while other countries limit prices. And our country uses the most resources and rely heavily on shipping from China, and a big part of the issue is a backlog in shipping of materials

Maybe. But let us presume that is the case, Lloyd Christmas. For the sake of argument, let me grant that U.S. companies are gouging American consumers far beyond the increased cost of their inputs.

Who is responsible as the chief regulatory officer of our nation for letting that happen? The President of the United States. His departments can engage in major anti-trust litigation against companies such as the United States meat-packing cartel and similar oligopolies in order to break them up and increase competition over collusion and price fixing.

I am not going to engage in concern trolling, but if what you are saying is true, what if anything is Biden doing to stop that from happening?

"Moron right wingers" does lose its sting some when there's hardly a sentence that follows that doesn't include a basic grammatical error.

Yes it is world wide. It is worsened by Joe Biden's many policy missteps. It's a fact deal with it.

You are correct in as much as Biden has had very little to do with inflation stateside. The rise in the right wing MSM and it's propensity towards blaming anything and everything on the Biden administration is a direct response to the loss of the presidency of Donald Trump. RW Entertainment media posturing as "news" has been hammering away, quite successfully, at the Biden administrations inability to quickly address rising prices and everything else under the sun. Here's a good article on the issue.

No, they were and are government-based. The pandemic didn't shut anything down.

It's almost as if inflation benefits the government.

It's not too bad anyway, inflation is a tax we all pay,

It's a big hidden tax that can't be blamed on any particular politician.

Your just went off the tracks. What do you believe is the downside of the dollar increasing in value?

Yes it is world wide. It is worsened by Joe Biden's many policy missteps. It's a fact deal with it.

It's not a sign of incompetence to see inflation after coming off the largest global pandemic in a century and heading into a major international conflict. This is clearly just Republicans trying to make political hay in a time of crisis when they should instead be rallying around our president.

It's amazing how many times this graph needs to be posted. We have about the worst inflation rate in the modern world. That's not an accident. It's a consequence.

Each nation is unique. America is heavily dependent on the price of gasoline. Some other nations, not so much. Our nation runs on a constant supply of readily affordable fuel. If the price goes up, then so does everything else.

None of this makes it Biden's fault. Actually, if it were not for Biden, it would be worse! We need to be thankful for his wisdom.

For those of us whose memory spans more than two months, inflation was already a much spoken-about problem before late February of 2022, Peacenik.
And so were 2 out of the three causes given. As the UN Secretary-General António Guterres said. It is a perfect storm. First there is the ongoing pressures of climate change causing hunger and a huge demand for grain; then came the pandemic, affecting the supply chain worldwide, and then the Ukraine War, further impacting an already dire situation.

Lotta good points there. The US is the world's leading producer of crude oil. If American oil executives wanted to increase production, they have the means to do it. That would increase supply and drive prices back down. But not so fast, they say. Why bother when they are making such record profits? And then they can simply invest in all the other businesses which will also have to raise prices as a result. Makes perfect sense if all they care about is getting rich.
