In the defending of governors like Abbott and DeSantis I keep hearing people say well the citizens voted them in so it must be ok with the things they are doing. Who here thinks either DeSantis or Abbott consulted the voters before they pulled their bonehead maneuvers to back up commerce at our 'open' borders or to attack disney. I'm positive the voters were not asked their opinions in either decision.

If this is true about scotus overturning R v W how do you explain this conservative court going against the will of the majority of americans for their benefit going against precedent that has stood for fifty years.

Who will this ruling help if R v W is overturned?

Conservative women have a decision to make. Do they maintain loyalty to the GOP as Tucker and his ilk implore them to do 24/7, out of fear of some evil abstract Left or Other, or do they want state governments to not have control over their own bodies.

They are going to have to choose.

The role of the Supreme Court is not to make decisions based on the shifting sands of popularity. The poll isn’t even really about Roe v Wade - it’s about a perceived and/or desired right to elective abortion on demand. Overturning Roe only places that decision back in the hands of the people and their elected representatives in the State Legislatures.

The democrats have proven they have the numbers to beat the GOP in a a close Presidential election. Toss in Independents voters who consistently vote more moderately and the "win" suddenly becomes legalized abortion in the key states that voted for Biden in 2020. That gives the democrats an advantage going into 2024 because the voter turnout should be big. This "win" could be the end of the GOP's Presidential ambitions.

That's rich. They are poised to overturn a 50-year old ruling based on the shifting sands of the FRW's control of the court.

Do you have a specific legal objection to the contents of the draft opinion?

LOL, I am not an attorney and don't play one on DP.

The Court will be able to make this decision because of the shifting sands of the FRW's control of Congress. Do you agree or disagree?
