Washington (CNN)White House press secretary Sarah Sanders suggested Tuesday that the White House has found an alternative way to get its requested $5 billion in funding for a US-Mexico border wall, marking a reversal from President Donald Trump's previous position.

Sanders indicated that the White House could support a compromise bill to avoid a partial government shutdown later this week.

Not good politics to have a Government shutdown attached to your name as President.

Bet the GOP applied pressure here. He cannot survive without them protecting him in the Senate.

Nothing to do with politics. Trump doesn't want to stay in washington and do his job and negotiate because it would cut into his vacation time at mar a lago. So he's just giving in. Trump doesn't care about the country. He'd shut down the government in a heartbeat if it didn't stop him from going to mar a lago.

The orange anus blinked.

I bet it squirted some **** on McConnell's lapel.

My reaction exactly. As much as the Republicans in DC have spines as solid as dumplings, they no doubt got to him after that display last week made him, and them by extension, look like idiots.

It will hurt their reelection chances, the only thing they really care about.....

Oh, Sarah Sanders says huh? I guess we can all relax about the next pending Trump temper tantrum...
