Here's a way to get around two big issues at once. Seems compelling to me.

I support granting illegals amnasty only if they serve four years of active duty military service in combat arms. That means no illegal signing up to be a damn pog(persons other than grunt) hoping to have it on easy street.Any can schmuck sign up for a non-combat jobs in the military,as far as these pogs are concerned the military is a regular 9-5 job at K-mart.

THe one thing I couldn't stand was pogs taking photos of themselves in the field with weapons they don't know how to use in order to have photos of themselves pretending to be tough, heck they proably think a fire team works at a fire station.

Isn't part of every soldiers basic training learning to fire weapons? How can you say that "pogs" don't know how to use them? And do you really think the military could function without people doing non-combat jobs?

His dimwittedness is getting in the way again.
Support jobs in the military are very important--they keep the war machine going. You should know that James.

And I hope that you never got injured and repaired by one of the 'posers' you so loathe.

You were in combat? I didn't know that. what conflict?

Of course. But not all basic training is the same.

There is more to a weapon than just pointing and pulling the trigger.A machine gun for example is not just pointed in any direction with a lead finger placed on the trigger. There is fire team movement, there is walking it,there is taking into consideration how many rounds to effectly fire so that you do not melt the barrel, there is trouble shooting your weapon if something goes wrong and there is what some refere to as making the machine talk or sing.

And do you really think the military could function without people doing non-combat jobs?

Of course not.

Do you beleave there is a difference between Bush's service and Kerry's service in the military right?Kerry was a actual soldier while Bush deliberately joined a national guard unit to avoid any chance of real combat service.SHouldn't the same distinction be made between a someone who joins the army to be a cook and someone who joins to be a infantry soldier?Would you call a sailor a sailor if he never spent any time on a ship or sub?
IN the Army soldiers also beleave there is a difference between a combat soldier and a noncombat soldier. When you join a combat MOS there is no denying that you can get sent to war/conflict,because duh thats your job.

I do not loathe pogs.Just the ones who think the military is a 9-5 job like a K-mart instead of military service.

You were in combat?

No I was not.

If a draft came up wouldn't you want to prevent politicians and other people of influence from bogarting all the non-combat jobs for their kids?Shouldn't there some sort of restriction if the government openly said that in exchange for four years of military service you'll get automatic citizenship?I realize that not all males can serve in a combat MOS and that females can not serve in any combat MOS,the military should make some exceptions to them.
