I can relate to you moreso than Mr.Lollie. I've had my fair share of police interactions and I've never tried to walk away while they were talking to me. I have refused to answer questions because "I didn't do anything wrong" and talking could only cause problems. Once I was 'taken in' because of my refusal, only to be released a couple houres later because they had nothing. I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and fit a discription. I've never refused to identify myself even when I knew I didn't have to. It's my experience that if you behave like a normal joe and not a trouble maker the cops will generaly leave you be. I don't consent to serches, though. If they want to identify me that's fine, but with my luck consenting to a serch will be the exact moment a friend of the ex wife drives by, takes a picture, then Im back in court dealing with more child-custody games.

**** happens, and it tends to happen to me a lot. Mr.Lollie must live a comfortable life to need to drum up drama.

America has abandoned the rule of law - the government is no longer accountable to the rule of law. If the government is unaccountable and unconstrained - it can abuse you and your freedom all it wants, whenever it wants. Just b/c you haven't been set upon yet - yet being the operative word there - doesn't mean that you can't be, or you won't be.

If you fancy yourself a libertarian - so much so that you choose to identify yourself as such on a public forum - I can assure you, you are on the governments radar.

That is what is becoming of Amerika - and that is what has happened in every democracy in history - it is why our Founding Fathers gave us a republic. That republic died in the 1930's, and 80 short years later we are now on the verge of collapse.

No Chris, doing your own thing is definitely not on the authoritarian agenda. You will comply, or you will be sanctioned, i.e. you will lose your job, your housing, your access to food, travel, et al... and when things deteriorate enough - you will be arrested and disposed of. It's how tyrannies operate - it is the lesson of history over and over again.

Rome, Greece, Lycia, France, the Soviet Union, Germany, et al... we have no shortage of examples of how these things progress. Amerika is travelling down that same road, it's only a matter of time.

I applaud you for having the vision to be a libertarian, but making a rational argument that you should be allowed to live your life as you see fit, as long as you are not harming someone else in any way - that argument holds no sway with the irrational and indoctrinated; and in case you haven't noticed, Amerikans are becoming ever more irrational and indoctrinated every year.
