Some liberal Republicans have recently introduced a guest worker program. I think it is dangerous to aid criminals in breaking our laws.

I can't take seriously the notion that illegal immigrants help our economy with 2 out of every five federal prisoners being illegals, with how many entire industries they've bottomed out American wages in (like meat packing), and with the fact that they use our schools, welfare, and health care systems for free, at maximum taxpayer expense.

I think it is a huge national security risk, especially since Al Queda has already been caught trying to send cells up from S. America posing as Mexicans.

We need walls, agents, and surveillance. But most importantly, we need to enforce most of our existing laws. That alone would solve most of the problem.

I agree Aquapub...

There are a few other issues as well. We need the National Guard to do security at our international airports; not a $7.00 an hour yahoo that might be an illegal to begin with. I know, some will say that the National Guard is too busy in Iraq. Which brings up another issue. Our military isn't nearly large enough. More than a decade of military cuts hasn't helped us secure our borders or fight the war on terror. This needs to change. During WW2 we had something like 12 million service men and women. Today we have between 1 and 2 million. Until our leaders start taking it seriously we'll always have this half-assed approach to national security.

The problem is both Republicans and Democrats are squeezing the working class, Democrats need illegal immigrants for votes, because they will most likely be poor and vote Democrat, and they also need cheap labor for the elitists, while some rich Republicans also want illegals for cheap labor.

Steen.. :rofl

Its a simple matter of the market place. Cheap labor that can be exploited because the employer can wield the threat of deportation with impunity lets them depress wages.

The depressed wages reduces the incentive for our native crop of lazy trash to find work, a problem exacerbated by the existence of socialism aka welfare in this country.

And the corruption provided to both parties by the employers to keep the status quo (t'ain't just the Republicans, boys, the Clintons were in bed with Tyson Chicken long before Hillary discovered cows), and the Democrats have the added incentive in that the illegal vote has swung a number of elections their way. That Sanchez congresswoman, for example, and Jane Harman 'won" a close one that way, too.

I completely agree, unfortunately, with this. There are two reasons I believe Bush won't do the right thing about this issue anymore than Democrats:

1) It helps keep labor cheap.

2) It helps keep the GOP in office by not offending Hispanics-who are a huge growing voter demographic and who vote religiously, as a whole family. Remember when WE considered voting a sacred right? It says a lot about where we have gone that it takes FOREIGNERS to remind us of how sacred it is.

Illegal alien. the word illegal says it all.
