Ronald Reagan made it fashionable for conservatives to ignore a health crisis when he declared AIDS to be a disease that only affected homosexual men. Republicans were content to let the death toll rise believing the disease to be God’s punishment on the queers.

Well, we all found out just how wrong King Ronny really was, haven’t we?

Jump to 2016, and we have another health crisis Republicans have decided to ignore, the Zika virus and its impact on the unborn carried by infected mothers.

For the unlucky women infected in red states that prohibit or severely limit access to abortion, as the disease infects more and more pregnant women, there will be many children with baseball-sized heads for conservatives to place blame on liberals for creating. Yes, all that ails humanity is somehow the fault of the liberals in the minds of conservatives.

Obama has asked for $1.9 billion to get ahead of the Zika virus. Funds to develop vaccines, diagnostic techniques, and methods to kill the mosquitoes that carry the disease.

However, given the obstructionism of the GOP to any plan offered by Obama for any reason, the effects of the Zika virus will be a pandemic before any real action is taken by the Congressional Republicans.

And if history has taught us anything, after delaying the funding, the Republicans and their right wing base will blame the liberals and the Democrats for allowing the disease to run rampant.

If you agree with me that's fine. If you do not, I don't really care.

LOL...... WTF are you talking about. The house and senate have been standing by to respond. The CDC screwed this one up, not the republicans or democrats.
