This is meant to be a purely fun, only semi-serious poll. I like superheroes and play City of Heroes and I do wonder sometimes how real world politics would affect a Superpowered defender of Truth, Justice, and the American Way. If this poll isn't serious enough to be in Polls then please, move it tp Lighter side or Off topic ^_^

Okay, if evolution did what it did on the show Heroes, and at least one person (or more) was born with any or all of the special abilities, and they decided to start using them to help people, like the Heroes did... What would happen?

Edit: Ugh, I hate polls...or they hate me...this time I remembered and checked that I wanted a poll but it went and posted the thread and didn't give me the poll making screen... Should I write one in my next post or is it ok as is? :(

They'd find a way to blame their actions on liberals

"Oh no they wear tights, ****ing liberals and their gay rights bullshit."

LOL :P

Hopefully the Punisher could show all of the chicken-hawk ******s what war looks like.

Wow, a girl who is a gamer?

I didn't know they existed. :2razz:

Depends on where his space capsule landed. If he landed in Persia and grew up to be Uber-Ali, we could all be in trouble.

Well if I had had a poll, it would have gone something like this:

How Would Superheroes be treated in the real world?

They could patrol, but would have to arrest and respect civil rights laws just like the police

They could patrol and do whatever they could to stop a crime/catch criminals and not have to work around civil rights laws because "The Hero Would Know Best"

They'd be thought of as freaks and the government would want them killed

That would make him a villain wouldn't it? I was considering heroes mostly but ok, Villians are cool to talk about too. :)

Depends upon your perspective, I suppose.

Who is the guy you mentioned? I see it like this, if they stop crime and rescue people they're heroes, if they hurt innocent people with their powers they are villians. If they help some innocent people and hurt other innocent people that would make them villains wouldn't it? Heroes don't attack people unless they're criminals.

The Hulk, would defeat W on "Jeopardy." Later, on his media tour, he would "Smash" Sean Hannity.

"You no like Hulk cuz Hulk's skin green! Hulk smash beedy-eyed mouth-runner!"

"You. Twig lady (Ann Coulter). You ugly, make Hulk want puke."

If Superheroes Existed, What Would Happen? IF? IF? IF? EXCUSE ME. LOOK AT MY AVATAR. OBSERVE MY NAME. WHAT IS THIS IF STUFF?

NOW talk to me about IF!

If there were more superheros than just CC....?

I think that we'd see the countries opinion of them split between two camps. One that would see them as vigilantes administering their own justice, but also blaming them for not stopping bad things from happening, and another who admired them and supported thier efforts at doing what they could to stop the bad things. We'd probably have official gov't SHs, who operated only at the behest of the gov't. Also, SHs means that we'd have super villians as well. It easier to create havoc than it is to stop it, so I think that we'd see a lot of these kind becoming the terrorist leaders of today as well as setting themselves as dictators in countries where they could control the populace.

It's OK. I understand that sometimes, normal folk forget I'm a superhero. Most of the time, I'm just a mild-mannered DP poster/mod. However, as CaptainCourtesy, superhero, I would be happy, and extremely qualified to answer your questions about superheroes, in general.

In most of the venues that I have ventured to, my main purpose has been to ensure unilateral courtesy and to expose and correct or vanquish all those who display discourteous behavior. I am usually welcomed, and entrusted with this mighty and honorable task. There have been a few exceptions, most notably, Cleveland, but we don't need to get into that. Mostly, meerly exposing the discourtesous behavior is enough to shrivel the culprit into a sniveling, shaking mass of pudding, ready to be eaten by Bill Cosby. Occasionally, however, I will encounter a villian that requires more than 3% of my powers to dispense of. Often, my form of 'correction' requires me to toss the offender through a plate glass window. I usually carry an extra one with me, in case there is not one readily available.

Most often, I either work with law enforcement or handle the situations that law enforcement can't or one's they claim smell like oysters.

I've never been called a freak, except for the time that I admitted I loved listening to Slim Whitman and the time I was caught trying to catch a fish in a small cup of water.

The only ones who want me killed are my few discourteous enemies and the governement of the Principality of Sealand for accidentally burning their entire country to the ground. Sorry about that.

I hope this information was helpful.

With all the seriousness and problems happening in the world, today, laughing every once in a while is healthy for the body, mind, and soul. :) We could all use a little fun.

Thank you very much Captain. It did answer my question, very well. :)
