Newt Gingrich has indicated that he is considering a run for the whitehouse. If Newt runs, who will you support in the Republican primary and why?

I voted for Newt because I think that he is the one possible candidate out there that truly represents the views of the Republican party today. Giuliani is too moderate. McCain has self-imploded and is no longer a serious candidate. Romney is too much of a wild-card and the other candidates are not strong enough to be a serious contender. Choosing Newt would give voters a real choice between candidates on the right and on the left.

Any Democrat would be better than Newt. Anyone from any party not who is not Neo con. I have often wondered if he was actually an American or not.

If it is something to harm the American people, especially the poor and the disabled, he is for it.

So far Newt gets 77% of the vote. I am still curious to hear from a number of Conservatives out there....cast your vote in this pseudo primary. Show your support for the candidate that you would like to see get the Republican nomination.

So far, Giuliani, the predicted front runner gets 0 votes when Gingrich is in the primary.

With Newt possibly getting in the race....its time to measure the support again.

I don't think I'd want a Republican in 2008, but if I voted in the primary I'd go for McCain.

right
because everybody was so upset with Reps having the Executive and Legislative branches that now they want the Dems to have both
cant complain about monopoly by one party while accepting it with the other party

Or perhaps I am evaluating the current field of presidential candidates based on their views and deciding on that?

RON PAUL -- of course.

DD, you are such a phony and everyone can see through you.......You would vote for Newt in a republican primary because if he is the nominee he is about the only candidate that the Ice Princess could beat in a general election...........

I know you'll never answer this challenge Navy Pride because every time I or someone else questions you to the point where you have to prove something with facts you cut and run but I will ask anyway to set the record straight.

You claim that Hillary will lose to almost any other than Newt potential GOP candidate. I say BULLSHIT. Why? All anyone has to do is look at how the states will vote and add up the electoral votes and even the staunchest Republican (except you because you can never admit you're wrong) will understand that if she wins every state that Kerry won plus Ohio she's in.

Here's the map of how the 2004 election went. Please show us Navy Pride which blue states will not be blue in 2008. If you can't and if you add Ohio then your statement above is once again WRONG.

Not to mention the potential additions for more electoral votes from Colorado, New Mexico, Iowa, Nevada and even Arizona is in play for the Democrats.

Bottom line is that the route is on and I defy you or anyone else in this thread to show us which blue state(s) would become red in 2008.

phony you might know....but there is absoutely nothing phony about my support for Newt. I have been clear that the reason why I would LOVE Newt to get the nomination is because I believe it would be a landslide Democrat victory if the GOP is dumb enough to give him the nod.
However, I do disagree that he is the ONLY candidate that the Dem. Candidate could beat. I just think that he would be the easiest.

Newt getting the nomination is about the only thing that could make me vote for Hillary.

Newt Gingrich couldn't win the presidential election. He is too much the stereotypical republican in the eyes of the uninformed voter. A fat white guy. I bet if you put his picture up next to Rush Limbaughs nobody could tell a difference, and that would hurt him in the era of American Idol like politics we play these days.

I am considering F. Thompson, Romney, and McCain in that order. If only McCain wasn't such a douche about illegal immigration he'd be my front runner....

As opposed to the new and improved flip flop pro-gun Giuliani? What about bend over McCain? Or Jesus freak Romney? I seriously doubt she couldn't beat any of them. All she has to do is expose the flaws that Americans have come to hate from presidential candidates because of the soon to be 43rd president. Flip flopper's(Giuliani), far right/left appeasers(Romney) or the ones who start out good but then become Republican/Democrat bitches(McCain). Our current president embodies all 3 of these flaws.

He's not a douche about illegal immigration, he just values getting something done more than others in the senate! He didn't talk about this much cause if you're supporting a compromise bill it's a package that comes with everything in it, but the **** he put in were
a) Building good border fences in high traffic areas
b) Place UAVs that can see for hundreds of miles over the destitute parts of the desert that can and will pick up everyone crossing and notify the border patrol of the exact location
c) A non-counterfeitable ID card to make it easier to hold employers accountable for hiring illegal immigrants
d) A managed guest worker program that requires the job to first be advertised in the states for a given amount of time, then you can bring someone from Mexico or wherever else for a specific amount of time (for the duration of the job, which must be specified before the permit is issued) at which point that immigrant can go back where s/he came from

He didn't support the Z-visa, he viewed the Z-visa as acceptable exchange to get that **** listed above with a Democratic congress. There are reasons why amongst Republicans John McCain does best in border states (I don't know if they're the only two, but two of the few states he's winning in are Arizona and Texas). He's never been a man of political convenience, but he is most certainly not a douche about immigration!

All he needs to do is prtoect the border(which it looks like he wants to do by your words) and enforce the laws that already exist(looks like he wants new rules that are just going to be ignored like the current ones are). Ok, so he's being half a douche.

I'm voting for Newt should he first, throw his hat in the ring, and second, get the nomination.

I'm enjoying the fact that these Dems are sitting fatcat on Hillary, like she has already won.

I remember the last Presidential election, I voted at 8:00 A.M. EST, by 2:30 P.M. Kerry was wearing a party hat and clinching his fists, exit polls were whispering landslide. 8:30 P.M., Kerry was on suicide watch ;)

He's all about both of those, and he would as president do both of those things, BUT the reality now is that we've got a major problem which the highest legislative body in America is doing NOTHING about, and he thought this was the most effective way to get the borders secure. He's a sixteenth douche on this AT MOST!!!

I'll go 1/4 a douche but no lower.

If he just turned down the pompous assholishness just a little bit he would ****ing demolish her, he's one of the few that I am actually certain is smarter than her, cause as much as I dislike her, she's an evil genius.

I agree but Newt's negatives are just to high.....I don't believe Hillary can beat the top 3 republicans, Guliani, Thompson, and McCain but she could beat Romney and any of the second tier candidates......

That is why DD is constantly pushing Gingrich and Romney.......He knows Hillary would probably beat them.......

Rudy could very easily win California and Pa. plus if he picks up Huckabee he will win all the southern states... Ohio will never go blue either........You are in deep kimchee my left wing friend and you know it......

As far as Guliani and gun control he was for gun control in NYC and personally I don't blame him......As far as the rest of the country he is pro second amendment and that is good enough for me........

So departing from the Constitution when he found following it to be inconvenient is OK, eh?

All I know is when Guliani became mayor in NYC it had one of the highest crime rates in the U.S. During his term he cut gun crimes in half......that is good enough for me.........

There is a big difference in banning guns in NYC and on the plains of Oklahoma.....

Newt would be the only candidate intimately involved in and responsible for the vaulted Clinton economy, totally taking that issue away from Hillary. I actually believe Hillary will crush anyone but Newt.

If Newt had been president we wouldn’t have this debt, and although deficits were invented for war, just see the British and French wars, in a long war such as this one a deficit is not only stupid but a national security risk.

I used to vote for Newt before the Democratic Party gerrymandering attempt to remove him, and I remember his stereotypical record very well, and I still have a leftover NRA bumper sticker to use. I guarantee that Guliani supporters will not have an old NRA bumper sticker to use, and that loses the South.

Newt 2008!

Hillary 2008!

Your choice, mark my words now, I’m telling you, that is the only choice you will get unless Hillary shoots herself in the foot.

You better jump behind Newt or get a barf bag ready for Hillary’s walk down Pennsylvania Avenue.
