Bernie has overwhelming voter support. He’s not the lesser of two evils, he’s actually worth voting for. Most people were loathe to support Hillary, whereas the deplorables were jumping out of windows to vote for Trump. Trump can’t grow his base. 7 or 8 out of 10 new voters are progressive. It’s the end of the GOP if Bernie is the nominee. The writing is on the wall.

Dems should have picked bernie in 2016. He was more of a threat to Trump than Hillary. I believe he actually believes in his ideology as failed as it is and that's what separates him from say Warren...who only believes in what current polls tell her to believe.

Really...what channel are you watching?...Pelosi is assembling a vote in an attempt to limit Trumps ability to protect us from terrorists. I don't recall dems being outraged when Obama did this countless times or when he bombed a hospital by accident killing 22 innocent people.

Really? I guess there must be a caravan of them coming? Until he killed this guy there was no threat of terrorists coming from iran/iraq to kill us. I'm more concerned about an american with a gun killing other americans than terrorists from overseas.

Pelosi it trying to limit the damage this president can do by going around congress as is his tendency.

You mean other than the last year of escalation by Iran which culminated with a dead American and our embassy being attacked? Other than that Mrs. Lincoln how was the play?

I'm not very confident in my prediction, but the only candidate that will inspire young voters is Bernie. I think a strong majority of older Democrats will still vote for him, but there will be losses in the recently gained suburban Republicans. Aside from the word socialism Bernie is positioned pretty well in those rust belt states given his stance on trade. I think he beats Trump by close margins in the rust belt.

I'll vote for Trump but the only Democrat candidate I respect at all is Bernie. Bernie does not pander
like the rest, has the most enthusiastic supporters
is good on the podium & had the courage to go up against Mrs. Clinton in 2016 while others like Warren & Biden who both had much stronger
followings at the time chickened out. If it's either Bernie or Trump for the first time ever I will not be disappointed if either win!

What failed ideology is that? The ideology of FDR?

2020 is liable to be a copy of 2016 except/unless...
Thousands of Democratic knot heads who stayed home because Clinton had it in the bag actually get off their couches and vote.
Thousands of evangelical types who hate pornography and everyone involved with it stay home.
Thousands of first-time voters who keep hearing that their opinions on guns and climate are wrong and they should sit down and shut up vote as a bloc.
Thousands of right-wing types who just wanted to keep a SCOTUS nomination out of Democratic hands and actually can't stand Trump stay home.
If those things happen the Democrats will win.

I won't vote for Bernie because I hate Bernie Bros.

The people who support you define who you are, and Bernie Bros are horrible people.

I'm going to assume by 'Bernie Bros' you are referring to am aggressive minority of Bernie supporters (and are inexplicably assuming them to be wholly male). If so, you're aware that every political campaign and politician has such a minority of supporters, right? Further, if so, how does such a minority define who Bernie is? They don't determine his character any more than PUMA (i.e. Party Unity My Ass) Clintonistas defined Hillary in 2008.

If you meant that more generally, it's not really applicable given the majority of Bernie supporters are female.

Re: If It's Trump vs Bernie, Who Will Win? I

Yeah most of those counties have like 8 people. She got 3 million more votes and he scraped to the win with what 70,000 votes across a handful of counties in Michigan, Florida and PA.

Now he might pull that off again, or Bernie might take those swing voters. So yeah, Bernie can beat him. But Trump will not be more popular even if he does manage another EC win. Think about it, he wasn’t even as popular as the candidate he beat last time and she was widely despised.

News Flash for you. The only people Bernie is popular with is the parasites who are dumb enough to think he will deliver all the freebies he is promising. The rest of the country sees him as a cranky old man.

Bernie hasn't accomplished one thing in his entire political career.

Nope. Though popular with ‘lazy’ millennials, he also has a huge working class following. Middle class too. Women as well. In fact the only people who don’t like him are bigots and billionaires.

News flash: there are more democratic voters than republican ones. More independents now are against trump than those who support him. They’re going to vote for someone. That someone will not be trump. Do the math. All that someone needs is to wrest a few of those counties trump won last time. Trump isn’t getting any new ones.

The GOP’s only hope is gerrymandering and suppression. People won’t even be fooled by the Russians again, except those who’ve already made up their minds...

Bernie hasn't accomplished one thing in his entire political career.

Except 40 years of improvements for women, minorities and the working class, and dozens of bills sponsored, voted for and passed. It’s just stuff republicans don’t like, that’s all, which is why they call it ‘nothing’. And even then, like ‘Obamacare’ they only think they dislike it when Fox tells them how bad it is, even as they go on benefiting from it in blissful ignorance, sure that being ‘right’ is more important than being healthier or better off.

I don't think we've tried this one.

I note that all but one-based on my quick count-of those who say Bernie will win, are pretty hard left. But there are some hard left who think Trump will win, along with mostly RWs. Some of them are committed Trump bashers though

Strangely enough, I read this roughly an hour before seeing this thread.

How Barack Obama Will Affect the 2020 Election - The Atlantic

Obama hasn’t committed to fundraising or other political activity beyond an email that went out last week, signed with his name, announcing the creation of a new general-election fund at the Democratic National Committee. The aide who handled Obama’s political activity through the midterms left earlier this year, and has yet to be replaced. But a source close to the former president told me he is still receiving calls from 2020 hopefuls. The candidates are reportedly looking for more of the wise-elder conversations he hosted through last year’s midterms and beyond, scrounging for advice, and cherishing the fun of getting to talk with a former commander in chief. Some are already on their second or third chat. Obama remains firm that he won’t endorse soon, while aides are stressing that he might get involved later in the process—presumably, the thinking goes, to stop a candidate he sees as too divisive or likely to lose from becoming the nominee. (This hasn’t been specified, but most assume it would be to stop Bernie Sanders.)

The few left leaning people who have voted against Bernie are generally big supporters of Biden and Clinton, and/or as a rule disparage Bernie so no surprises; the vast majority of people voting Trump are of course either right wing or hard core Trump supporters.
