If It's Hardball It's Conservative

I don't see what your heartburn is with that... If the dems were having a convention like that he would be there to......

My heartburn is with the phrase "Republicans are here to pick the next President"

I don't think it's a done deal that the next president will be a Republican.

Your way to sensitive my friend, I think they were picking the prez for their party.........The dems will do the same thing at some point and Matthews will be there sucking up to them...........

I might be one to say that you may be a tad bit sensitive as well but who can deny that if Matthews had said "The democrats were there to pick the next president" the rightwing counterpart would be all over that crying "Liberal Media! Liberal Media!"

Why is this an issue...Seriously?...

Why are people concerned about which way a pundit..a friggin' pundit?!?!...leans?...

Is partisanship so bad in this country that we start to compare the people that do the comparing?...

Hell, cnredd. Michaeal Jackson has all but disappeared. What the hell else are we 'sposed to talk about?:rofl

:2wave:

Like I said for the last month Matthews has been bashing President Bush with a passion........Its pretty obvious where he stands politcally to everyone but hips.........The only reason I watch Hardball is because he has decent guests and I love to see people like Bob Beckal (not sure of the spelling hips) fall all over themselves.........

I have seen Matthews take the position of the right on more than one occassion and I can say I've seen him lean left as well. I guess it's hard to not wobble on occassion, while actually thinking at the same time.

I don't watch him regularly. But I wouldn't doubt it at all if he has fell on the Bush bashing side of the fence as of late. The other night I watched Joe Scarborough give the president and his administration a tongue lashing. I NEVER thought I'd see the day. When/if O'Reilly ever jumps on the anti-Bush bandwagon, it's all over but the crying.:2bigcry:

What can I say, I'm a lover not a fighter. ;)

If Mathews starts sucking anywhere near me, I'm sicking Jeff Gannon on him.

"I feel strongly enough about the philosophy of the party to let the people that can represent it the clearest articulate that message. Biden and Lieberman certainly have a place too, but not the only place."

I understand what you are saying, but the American people aren't going to buy the left-wing message. The media is doing the Dems a favor by putting on only the moderate Democrats. If the American people had heard the Gore of today during the his presidential run, Bush would have won in a landslide.

That's pure speculation. I'd rather be rejected for what I am, than admired for something that I'm not.

I think all parties are best served by having spokesmen that represent different views from within their repsective parties. When you're talking about Dems - that's a much wider range of views.

You got that right, the dems don't agree on anything......

You are right... it was speculation for me to say that. However, that speculation is based on a LOT of studies on Americans.

Americans are much more individualistic than most people in the world (lots of studies on this). America was founded by immigrants looking to make their own way without a lot of interference from others.

We had the first wave of immigrants from England, then Germany, then Scotch-Irish, followed later by more Germans, Polish, Irish, Italians, and others. The latest wave is from Mexico and the immigrants from Mexico are driven by the same ideals (leave the past behind and look for opportunities in America).

Even though the immigrants came from many different ethnic backgrounds, they all shared the pioneering spirit of leaving their family, friends, and love ones behind, and make thier own way in America). Americans have this bred into us.

The Democratic message is a socialist message. It talks about taking from the producers and giving to the non-producers. It talks about the government providing services, jobs, and opportunities (instead of people obtaining their own services and making their own way). The Democratic message is fundamentally anti-American and won't sell in America (as of today anyway).

hips I heard the same thing in 2002 and 2004..You got to come up with a new tune my friend.............

Chris Mathews compared George Bush to Atticus Finch, from "To Kill A Mockingbird" the other day. I think I'm gonna barf.

Anyway, it's the problem of being a 2 party country. There's the same problem in the GOP:

The Paleocons are mostly obsolete these days. They may rise again with the immigration xenophobia.

The Theocons are huge on the gay bashing, all sex is bad stuff.

The Neocons got us into Iraq with the help of the Project for the new American Century.

The Corporate Cons are responsible for so much of the deregulation of environmental standards, corporate cronyism, the Abramoff scandal and lawyer bashing.

It's not one big happy family in the GOP either.
