Now think about this. First of all, we would probably not have any evidence that the meddling actually changed election results. We are also open to the following scenarios:

1. A foreign government could continuously meddle in our elections, nullifying every single election so no one would ever win, a constitutional crisis indeed.

2. A foreign government who wants to undermine our Democracy could continuously meddle in our elections, convincing voters that Democracy doesn't work, discouraging voters from voting.

3. If US law required a formula to determine if election results were changed due to foreign meddling then that formula would determine the actual winner. In other words, if this formula was the law then theoretically if a foreign country wanted to meddle in our election then they could, for example (in 2016), go on the offensive to get Hillary elected, knowing that the formula would actually cause Trump to be declared the winner instead due to said meddling.

4. We could sanction the guilty country. Oh wait, we've already done this and they still meddled.

5. We could declare war on the other country, even if it were to escalate into nuclear.

We could meddle with their elections, I think we have the tech and skills for that. Get Putin out of there.

lol

You don't think we've "meddled" in other countries elections, do you?

We know the Russians meddled with the election in three ways:

1. A social media campaign using bots and fake news

2. Hackers releasing information through Wikileaks

3. Donations through the NRA

The election shouldn't be nullified. Trump has enough support to be a legitimate president.

The investigation regarding Trump was about Russian meddling but also about whether Russians have compromising information on Trump. What we learned is that they did have compromising information regarding Trump Moscow tower. They may have more that we don't know about.

We've already tried that but the left seems to not want to talk about that.

It's not against the law for an international businessman who builds buildings to build buildings or negotiate to build buildings in foreign countries. That's why Mueller has resorted to investigating payments to porn stars, the very same thing Bill Clinton and John Edwards have done.

Obama did it to Russia and wasn't even sneaky about it. Screw Russia. Our problem is China. China has a lot to gain by getting rid of Trump and getting back to "docile USA as usual".

We can't even keep illegals from voting if party machinery cooperates, so the winner is never going to cooperate with anyone about the fraud that got them there in the first place.

This could realistically end our country by taking majorities large enough to make ruinous laws alone.

Yep. Where it takes a more interesting turn is if the candidate worked with a foreign power to win an election; and if that foreign power has some type of leverage over the president that's a real problem.

We've already tried that but the left seems to not want to talk about that.

I'm not sure what your point is. Did we hack into their candidates' emails and release them? Did we create an army of bots spreading lies about Putin?

Countries do try to influence elections in other countries but rarely do they use nefarious means to do so.

I don't get why you stopped standing up for America and started defending Russia and Putin?

It's not against the law for an international businessman who builds buildings to build buildings or negotiate to build buildings in foreign countries.

It may not be illegal but it's corrupt. If I run for office advocating more tobacco production while secretly negotiating a deal with tobacco companies isn't that corruption?

And while it's not illegal, because it's secret, it means a foreign country knows your secret and has leverage over you.

Are you OK with your president being compromised by a foreign power?

Japan, North Korea and Germany, just to name three automobile companies, have plants in the US, not to mention numerous other manufacturers. International businesses and businessmen are nothing new. Apparently, some must think they are...

4. Fielding a (puppet) candidate.

How did any of that meddle with the election?

North Korea has an auto plant in the US?

LOL. We have used nefarious means to influence other's elections since probably the 18th century. You are very naive to believe it just started happening in 2016. Of course technology has gotten better than the 18th century? So what?

Whoops! I meant South Korea. I humbly stand corrected :3oops:

I would genuinely like to see what a North Korean car looks like.

An international businessperson does international business. Any law that is ever passed will in one way or another help the very people who passed it. Wasn't it corrupt of Nancy Pelosi to vote for Obamacare and then turn right around and give big corporations in California an exemption to it?

4. Fielding a (puppet) candidate.

Who is the puppet candidate? I mean our current relations with Russia are even lower than during the Obama administration, who let Russia annex Crimea. I don't see where the puppet is.

Japan, North Korea, and Germany are all countries, not automobile companies.

North Korea has no plants manufacturing cars in the United States.

Doesn't excuse it happening, simply because you believe you benefitted from it.

I'm a big fan of the 1st amendment. I don't really know what is intended by the term meddling, since other countries do have a concern about our election. If a law was broken, prosecute and let's adjudicate the meaning in the courts.

I don't believe we benefited from it, why, do you?
