Nobody really thinks that sexuality is purely defined by genetics. No moreso than a favorite color or a preferred style of music is. There are many factors, some of which are genetic.

Genetics likely provide an inclination but other (sociological and personal) factors are mitigating. The important thing to understand, given the various factors, is that it is not a choice. And, of course, it's natural.

Whitehead worked for the New Zealand government as a scientific researcher for 24 years, then spent four years working for the United Nations and International Atomic Energy Agency. Most recently, he serves as a consultant to Japanese universities about the effects of radiation exposure. His PhD is in biochemistry and statistics.

Because working with radiation is the same as working with homosexuality.

Studies please.

Not natural? Homosexuality has existed forever, every country and culture since recorded history. Homosexual behaviors have been observed in close to 1,500 species. I don't care what argument you make but calling it "unnatural" is just false. Not true.

Wrong. The person who wrote this does not understand genetics and how they have been found to very likely be responsible for influence in certain personality traits, such as sexuality. The twin study in fact reinforces that it is likely that sexuality is likely influenced by genetics in some way since identical twins are more likely to both be gay than any siblings.

The man worked for the IAEA. I would grant him authority to speak on matters of nuclear concern, but when it comes to gays, you'll forgive me if I don't take his word on it. And even more so, if I don't take the word of a random reporter from a site that clearly has an anti-gay agenda.

Words do have meaning. Natural is something that occurs or caused by nature without human influence.

In fact the stigmatizing of homosexuality and homosexual acts is "unnatural" because it's solely a human construct.

The ancient Greeks and Romans at a minimum would disagree with you. Procreation is only one function of sex. Intimacy is just as important - if not moreso considering that most people only have a couple of kids yet will have sex far more often.

Would like to know if the studies were peer reviewed, who funded them, etc.
Heck, one study is over 20 years old!
The positions that Dr. Whitehead has had as a scientist for New Zealand and
the U.N. in the IAEA hardly seems to indicate the training to study human behavior.
Just another study to give comfort to those harboring LGBT bias.
