Does Chairman Milley still have back channel ears.... like he did with China but needs with Russia now.
I am leaning towards he and some top military brass in Russia thinking alike on this.

What sort of contacts?

What kind did he have with Chinaa?

Why does he need those with Russia?

Why do Russian commanders think like this?

What the potato?

almost all of the above questions have been answered in Milley's biographical tale, "Peril" authored by Woodward and Costa.
even " Potatoes for Dummies " is on NYT best sellers list now too, so

Gen Milley is probably the closest American with a finger on the Russian pulse than anyone else in the US thanks to his ongoing relationship with Russia's Gen Gerasimov. Milley has dealt with a flaming nutcase before that brought him to work behind the scenes in order to keep nations as free as possible from nuclear disaster. I can't imagine his concerns any lesser now that Putin has started screwing the pooch.

the relationship between Milley and Gerasimov, the two nations’ top military officers, is seen as a way to pave the way for more urgent communication at lower levels. “That is what the Milley-Gerasimov thing is for,” said the senior Pentagon official.

From my reading Milley is no different than past Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. When the Capitol riots were going down he was in direct communications with his counterparts in China (and Russia and who-cares-where) who were concerned about a coup and if that would mean -- as concerned CN -- an immenate attack on them. Of course that made no sense to us but for those who think diplomacy is not a function of the militray he proved the point outright to my mind.

But then there are the ground pounding illiterate here who almost daily express there comfort with their ignorance so then you just let them waddle in thier syrup.

Indecently, Milley was so concerned that Trump would try to initiate a military coup that he gathered together his army, navy, air force, chiefs around the table and said to them roughly, "you are not to do anything the President commands regarding militray intervention unless you pass it by me first. Is that understood?"

But then for the morons here to understand this they would have to STUDY a little.... jeezuz

I suggest the ground pounders read... but then I know they wont or cant

you will trash any military person so that you can stay in love with your political girlfriend.

Good luck with that.

You don't think that Putin monitors such contacts ?

In WWII the allies couldn't assassinate Hitler or get any of his generals to kill him.
i have no idea how they communicate. theoretically, they could do the code thing.

Putin

either that or staying in contact with Russian military brass so they don't let Putin go nuclear.
the later not the former... all this AGAIN is in the book and dozens of articles written about it.
Milley was not going to allow Trump to call in the Military over the election.
That is all.

I doubt the Chinese will be as stupid/disloyal as he was.
