Why not do what Putin did in Crimea, and have 100,000 NATO troops go into Ukraine without uniforms and take out Russian forces, while everyone says, 'we don't know who they are, must be Ukranian guerillas'.

I guess if you payed them they would be considered mercenaries.

Just because Monster Putin is an international criminal is no reason for us to follow suit. However Zelensky's call for volunteers from anywhere to come fight with him has interesting possibilities.

Putin did the same thing in Georgia, just for some short period of time, to prove to himself it could work. Then on to Crimea and now the whole of Ukraine. Nobody made enough effort after how obvious Crimea was to back then take the kinds of action being taken now against Russia. If Europe and/or the US were so weak as to not take such action then, they don't have the chutzpa to do the "Why not" now. Putin knows that because nobody did **** to stop him then. He was given no reason by the free world that there was anything stopping him from continuing territorial expansion.

Or do what republicans would do and say they are actually Russians.

I hope there are people planning to respond to Zelensky's call to arms from all quarters. You do not have to fight under the flag of your country to fight. In fact whole divisions could fight under no flag at all. So much for NATO involvement creating a 3rd world war scenario.

Because once it was found out, and it would be found out, it would give ever so slightly the legitimacy to any cries of war crimes made against those doing so. It has the potential to kill any peace negotiations once discovered or restart the war all over again. Sending in mercenaries is a bad option.
